I've been thinking a lot about the positive things that I can change on a day-to-day basis to try to promote conception. I'm just curious about the changes that all of you have made your diets (if any)?
I am trying to eat more protein, vegetables, healthy bread.

I've been so bad about healthy living for the last year or so. I've always had pretty good eating habits but not exercising but the last year between celebrating our wedding and stress of job I hate, things have gone downhill . Recently both healthy food and exercise went out the window and it shows. But, that said, I've resolved to get back on track.
For me, cutting back caffeine to one cup of coffee a day, reducing added sugars and refined sugars, and increasing vegetables is the first step. I also just cut all of my portions in half.
I'm also doing some "dubious" fertility enhancers, like pineapple core, pomegranate.
I'm looking for more ideas though...so if anyone has any I'm game!
TTC since July 2014. CP March 2015. IVF #1 March 2016, 5R, 3M, 2F with ICSI. Transferred 2 on day 3. CP. Surprise BFP and then CP August 2016 (prep cycle for IVF). IVF #2: zero eggs retrieved IVF #3: 6R, 5M, 5F, 3 (2 8A and 1 11A) transferred, one "B" graded embryo frozen on day 5. BFP (at home 7dp3dt, confirmed 14dp3dt with 1552 beta) and U/S at 5w5d, 2 sacs and 2 yolks!
I haven't yet. If I could just cut out sweets and fast food I would be good. I swear Whataburger is my downfall. I'm hoping with March I can do a first of the month sweet and junk food elimination challenge. I'll try going cold turkey. I swear if one more random person asks if I am pregnant I am going to scream. Ugh belly weight stinks.
I totally had to change my diet. My RE wanted me to lose weight before my surgery she wanted me to be a little bit more healthier. So I started weight watchers in January of this year and thus far I've lost about 20 pounds give or take 2 pounds. I have been unable to work out for the past week due to the surgery and I've kind of slacked on my diet. But I plan to go back fully on weight watchers beginning this weekend. I'm hoping that this will help with conception now since I've had the surgery and I am a little bit more healthier than I was when we first started trying to conceive. I personally love the weight watcher plan because I am still able to eat a lot of foods that I like, I just have to calculate my portion sizes.
I haven't changed my diet at all, but I would say overall my diet is pretty healthy. We don't eat out very often and we have a pretty varied diet (fruit and veg and meat and grains and all that). I do eat too many chips though. And licorice. And chocolate. Although I've switched to mostly dark chocolate which is a HUGE deal for me. MH loves dark but I've always been a milk fan. I am shocked at how much I like dark now. Anyway I'm mostly good and I also work out a fair amount.

I lost over 30 pounds on weight watchers almost 8 years ago. I had stuff I always ate and once I knew the point count it made recording and tracking so much easier. Good luck.

wannabmama: This is what I need to do. I think that I've gained some weight because I use about three generous spoonfuls of sugar (over the day) in my decaf coffee and reg. tea. I also recently realized that I eat generous portions of refined breads (scones or the like). Cutting back on sugar and adding proteins are my main goals.
However, I go back and forth over whether or not my dietary changes will affect my fertility.
URMySunshine77 just think, even if it doesn't impact your fertility, it might help overall health and keep you able to chase YS around easier and longer
I forgot to mention, too, I'm cutting back on the booze...I love wine. It's hard.

I this week dropped coffee altogether. Mostly because I also put sugar in it and I'm trying really hard to reduce my sugar intake. I just signed up with a trainer and start next week (because he's going on vacation). He's given me a diet and some pointers so I'm trying to keep sugar grams to 40/day and he said to eat 1/2 my weight in protein grams. Trying to adapt that into my diet. I also discussed our fertility journey so keeping that in mind and not doing crazy workouts. Mostly strength training and walking.
boobacat the very low sugar thing is hard, but effective. MH did it last year and lost a ton of weight and never looked back. I've done a good job of cutting back but not as strictly as he has (and my results are more mixed too, predictably). It's very hard with all the sneaky places sugar gets added!!
Is it your birthday?!? If so happy birthday...and you totally have to have cake

Well I'm diabetic and over weight and suffer from an auto immune disorder so I have started a low carb/high fat diet, basically eliminated all bread, pasta, rice, potatoes & starches including certain vegetables & fruit. I also started at the gym. For me, I feel better, my blood sugar is much happier without the carbs and my body is going to build a stronger core to help carry a baby. Fx I'm also going to start yoga because my stress levels are high and that makes me worry that I won't carry a baby to term if I'm in constant anxiety. I have made the decision not to TTC for a month, I want to give myself the next few weeks to work on this health plan. It scares me letting the time pass and not try but I think my gut is telling me it's the right decision.

Not my actual birthday but DHs parents are headed to warmer climate for s long while so small celebration today. We are having chocolate ganache bumpy cake
I thought cutting scoops of sugar in the coffee would be an obvious one to cut back. I didn't realize I would have such a caffeine withdrawal! I'm trying to be a better label reader too. I need a couple weeks to get the hang of it but I trying to lifestyle change. I need to lose some weight and get healthier in general. It would be nice to fit into my favorite jeans again too
One small thing I do is put sugar in my first cup of tea but no sugar in my second (and sometimes third). I find that it makes me feel like I'm not totally depriving myself but also saves me a bit of of calories throughout the day.
teenybenoit - starting yoga now is such a great idea. I wish I had done it throughout my pregnancy because I feel like labor would have been easier. Supposedly sitting in a squat position is one of the best things you can do to prep! Plus the breathing comes in handy too
I completely cut out caffeine, but other than that I haven't changed much. I have to say this winter has been rough - all I do is crave junk food. I vowed to start exercising again (I'm a big fan of Denise Austin) and I literally did one video, the winter from hell started, and my exercise became shoveling. I haven't done another video since. I'm so ready for summer.
I've started acupuncture and will probably meet with their nutritionist. I don't see myself making any major changes to my diet but hope to pick up a few pointers... and will *try* to cut down on the junk!
lickwed, wirt2cute, I did WW a while back successfully too. Love that I could eat what I wanted as long as it was within my points. My running joke at the time was the flex points were "drinking points"
AFM... I reduced Caffeine. Not completely because Green Tea and Decaf still have caffeine. And I am not going to turn down Starbucks if I or someone else forgets to ask for decaf. But really don't have it often. I love rasberry and lemon teas now so drinking those.
Tried to cut refined sugar... better but the "snack bucket" is right by my desk so occassionally I have a lapse and hit the mini candy bars, etc that are in there.
I'm back on the eating better wagon. I'm tracking my food on spark people and trying to get 3-4 workouts in a week. last time, DH cut out caffeine, I'm hoping he's ready to do that again.
I have been using the "my fitness pal" app to help with food consumption, exercising, etc. It will also interface with a fitbit so one can track their step count that way as well (beware, if wearing riding it takes the horse stride as yours so really racks up the steps!). Between my fresh and now into my FET I have also started "30 day challenge" workouts so I am doing the ab workout, little black dress challenge, squat challenge and leg challenge".
I have limited my alcohol, caffeine though I still drink tea mostly caffeine free, and use Splenda or Stevia. I have a sugar addiction that I am still battling especially after dinner and limit myself to one dessert a day. So last night it was a 1/2 cup of slow churned Edy's ice cream. I try and keep my calorie count around 1200 a day.
