My nephew is turning 2 next weekend and SIL wants educational toys for him. Does anyone have any recommendations for me? When I do Google searches most of the things I'm seeing done seem like they will "grow" well with him, or are things he already has a decent amount of like books or puzzles.
Wooden blocks, Duplos, play kitchen stuff, Magnatiles (we have the less expensive PicassoTiles), dress up stuff, and trains/matchbox cars are all things that DS1 loves and has played with fairly consistently since he was 2 (the Picasso Tiles are newer). He also has a sand table and a water table he still plays with outside.

My son is 2 and loves books. I don't think he could have enough. He also loves anything art related. MIL got him an easel for his birthday and he loves to paint or color with crayons on it.

Try searching the brand Learning Resources on Amazon. We have some things but I don't know if they offer anything more appropriate for a 2 year old. Melissa & Doug also has good stuff.
