My lo has started rolling over. I noticed this morning when I got up that he had rolled onto his stomach at some point between 4 and 7. During the day I will let him sleep on his tummy when laying on my chest, but never at night. But if he is doing it himself I can't really stop him.. I know sids is a very controversial topic and many people have big opinions about it. I just want to know if you ladies are having any similar problems or if you let them sleep on their stomachs?

I'm a FTM so disregard if this is bad advice but from what I've read and been told once they can roll over it's fine. You still want to always put them to bed on their backs but if they roll over on their own you can leave them.

I was just going to ask this same question. My son can't roll yet but has strong neck support already and can lift his head. He sleeps on my chest on his stomach but I'm wondering if it's ok to allow him to sleep this way when I'm not holding him?? He will be 2 months old on Tuesday... Advice, who sleeps thier babies on thier tummy now?

I let F nap on her tummy during the day since I can watch her and she's able to turn her head. I still put her on her back at night though since it makes me nervous. She's almost 6 weeks old.

LO sleeps on his belly most of the time. Well, on his front with his bum in the air. He sleeps much better this way. At first I was only letting him do it during the day but after realizing how much better (and longer) he was sleeping he's mostly on his front.

You should always put baby to bed on their back. Once they roll both ways, then it's fine to leave them. But if they can only roll from Back to front, you should roll them back to their back.
However; your mama, if you feel comfortable with leaving baby be on their tummy, that's fine too. I certainly don't follow the 'books'. I bed share, and he sleeps on his sides.

Do keep in mind, when we were all babies ourselves, the practice at the time was to have us on our stomachs. If you do place baby on their stomach, I'd make sure there were no blankets or really anything around though.

My son has been on his tummy since he could do this (lift/turn head). We haven't had any problems and he sleeps so great, but you are the only one who can decide what you are comfortable with. I watched him during the day and felt confident he could move himself if needed.
