Things to do with newborn during the summer?

We're just going to stay around the house mostly. I plan to enjoy our newly landscaped backyard.

Summers here in South FL are really hot, humid, and rainy. So all of our "outings" really depend on the weather. But I like the idea of early morning or evening walks, going to the pool or beach, and bringing the baby along for brunch. There are also some really nice malls here so we can just go walk around in the a/c, grab some lunch, etc. on rainy days.

Depending on our weather I might hold off on dragging out newborn out until later in the day, but I expect to be out and about doing what we normally would most evenings from the get go. That means going out for dinner, hanging in the shade at our local dog bar, and late afternoon trips to the pool so I can stick my feet in the baby pool with our toddler and hubby can hang with new baby under the cabana. I'm planning on daily walks and attending all of the usual BBQs and summer functions. I'll just be sure to dress baby lightly and keep him covered with an airy Swaddle blanket (and avoid the hottest hours of the day).

We don't get too hot of weather here so I am pretty excited this baby will be here in June! I love the summer months and am so happy I will be out of work with her until at least September.
I'm definitely looking forward to a lot of walks with the dogs, and there are a ton of parks around to hang out in. There are also a bunch of festivals and farmer's markets downtown which I am looking forward to walking around. We have a few malls within a short distance so that's good for the days that are too hot. My sister has a pool and is 6 weeks ahead of me in her pregnancy so I definitely look forward to some trips to her house while she is off indefinitely from work (so jealous, wish we could afford it).
We are also looking to move and buy a house after this summer so we will spend a lot of time going back and forth from NY to OH which is about a 6 hour drive. Not so much looking forward to the drive but super pumped to look for houses and explore a new area

We'll also probably do a lot of walking when it's not too hot (or inside at the mall when it is). We also might be crazy, as we're planning to go to my parents' vacation house in Cape Cod (about a five-hour drive in optimal conditions) in August. Hey, at least we'll have some extra sets of hands!

I'm pretty much going to do whatever DS1 wants to do and take the newborn along. That likely means trips to the park, the zoo, the library for story and gardening time, the splash pad, playdates with friends, etc. The newb will be in a carrier or a stroller along for the fun!

Of course on days that are excessively hot or humid, we'll stay in, but I'd do that with DS1 anyway. I am excessively thankful that DS2 will have a summer birthday. Being stuck inside with an active 4 year old and a newborn sounds like hell to me.

It doesn't usually get too far past 85-90 here, so LO and I and big brother and sister will be doing to usual farming stuff (planting, weeding, feeding, selling produce), but with the addition of a comfy camping chair, shade canopy, and stroller. I'm glad he won't start crawling during the busy season! Also, watching the big kids play in the kiddie pool. Endless entertainment.

Has anyone used the bug netting for car seats or pack and plays? We love to sit in our backyard and we'd obviously love to bring her out, too.

Our plans are go outside as much as possible! Walks are high on our to-dos.

We plan on sticking close to home. The first few weeks we'll just spend time in our backyard, hanging out, going for walks, etc. After that we'll probably do lots of day trips up to the mountains (an hour away for us) and just hang out next to the river with the family.

We're planning on staying close to home as well. On hotter days, the plan will be to go out for morning and evening walks and park visits for DD. we'll probably also walk the mall and maybe go to our small zoo in August.

There are also a couple of lakes that aren't too far and we may make some day trips to them.
