Hello! The OR is reserved for me for a c/s on 18 March. That's the day I reach 34w. (It seems to be widely believed that it's better to deliver a PPROM at 34w, b/c at that point, the risk of infection outweighs the risks of premature birth).
But, my MFM is now stating, if things look good, we'll start to induce that morning, and the OR with be reserved if we need it. There are pros and cons of both methods, so I will just deal with whichever one it is. I'm just really hoping I don't need to do both. I have a co-worker who gave birth to one twin vaginally, and then had to go emergency c/s for the second. I thought it wasn't too common, but I met a new mom in the hospital pantry yesterday who had the same experience. Yikes!
Also, sorry I've been away. As the queen of perfect timing, my work laptop went off lease this month. On Friday, DH took my old laptop & I had to wait until I got the new one on Sunday. But, the new laptop is a dream so far. Smell ya later, Dell. I won't be missing you.
amshark getting the labor and c-section double whammy scares me too. My OB keeps saying no more than 38 weeks for me because of my issues. I told her I don't want an induction. I've seen too many women labor for days and then end up with the cs anyway. So basically if I don't go into labor on my own before 38 weeks, I want the cs if there's an emergent reason to get him out.
ANYWAY---wow, you are near the finish line lady! I'm curious to hear how the LOs are doing too, do you have weights on them this week?
ProfessorChaos I'm doing well! My previa looks like it's moved from a complete to a marginal (will find out for sure at my next mfm appt), and I haven't bleed in almost a week! We're just waiting for our fetal echocardiogram later this week and working on keeping my BP until control. I've developed PIH and had slightly elevated protein in my urine last week so they're keeping an eye out on it and watching it for pre-eclampsia.
But yes the plan is to stay in bed rest for the rest of pregnancy. I was hoping that if the previa resolved (needs to move to low lying) I'd be able to go back to work for a while, but the OB says that's off the table if we can't get my BP under control.
jessimi06, glad to hear the placenta previa and bleeding have improved, sorry to hear about your BP and elevated protein. Pre-E is no joke, so at home bed rest doesn't sound like overkill to me.
AFM - My MFM did a growth scan this week, and the babies were estimated at 3 lbs 10 oz and 3 lbs 11 oz. So, they're growing well and at the same rate. This is really good news in my eyes. If I can make it to 18-March, I'm expecting the babies to be over 4 lbs each.
I've had some weird "irritations" or mild contractions showing up during my NSTs recently. Last night, they were showing up regularly, even though I didn't feel them. And, early this morning (4 am?), I noticed I was bleeding again when I went to the bathroom. So, I went on the monitors early, and the babies' heart rates looked good, and no new contractions this morning. The bleeding has already slowed down, and looks like its on its way out.
Just another day in hospital bed rest land. Counting down to D-day!

Love hearing your updates, amshark and jessimi06. Glad to hear you are both doing as well as possible given the circumstances. You ladies make me feel horrible for any negative thought I've had since you are dealing with so much!
jessimi06, I hope that you don't have any more BP problems on top of everything else. That's entirely frustrating.
amshark, that's unbelievable that both are still almost the same weight, your little guy is a fighter. March 18 is just over two weeks away, that is so amazing! I don't blame you for not wanting to go through both. Hopefully, the choice will be more clear when the time comes.
I'll update in the 3rd tri check in, but here is a quick run down....
contractions have slowed down, baby has flipped and is head down (PLEASE stay that way baby!!!!), steroids given, and now we wait and see.....
LFTs are elevated even mores so we will keep watching LFTs. I'm not sure at what point they will induce for the elevated LFTs, but the longest I can stay pregnant is 39 weeks even if things were perfect.
Started TTC# 1 5/10
DX: Unexplained IF
Lots of IUI's and 3 IVFs later we have a daughter!

TTC #2 IVF #4 and an FET brought us DD #2 on St. Patrick's Day!

amshark, Holy Cow!!!! I cannot believe that you will have your LO's in 16 days! That is crazy! Their weights sound amazing! FX they stay put and put on a little more weight!
kmc84, So happy contractions have slowed down and baby is now head down!
jessimi06, Thats great news that the previa is now marginal......

Whew! Glad baby flipped and hope that stays the case. Good luck!
amshark, glad the babies are doing well! I definitely don't want the double whammy or to labor for 20+ hours and end up with a csection either. I talked to my OB about it, and if the previa clears, I'll most likely still have a csection.
kmc84, I'm glad baby flipped! Hopefully you'll be able to keep her in for a little while longer.
