I've bought a couple outfits for baby boy, but I'm waiting until this weekend to go crazy. March is the month for all the giant spring/summer consignment sales events around here, and I plan on buying DD1 and baby boys summer wardrobes at them.
Other than clothes, all we really need for baby boy is a dresser, which we're working on.
leenziepops I like the simplicity of that bassinet. I've been going back and forth between just using a pack n play or a mini crib because I dont want anything that's overly padded.
Me too! I fell in love with the clean modern design. For some reason, the frilly ones creep me out a little. Too many horror movies??? And I don't like fussy frills especially if I'm having a baby boy. This one is just perfect! The wood is beautiful and feels nice to touch. i was considering using a PNP for a bassinet but 1) too big to fit next to my bed and 2) just didn't look pretty enough for LO's first bed! LOL.
We've ordered all of our furniture (which is being delivered Saturday!!!) and I've been trying to hold off buying baby clothes until after our showers . We picked out a few items this weekend- DH even helped! I love seeing everything come together- it's so difficult to not to just go out and purchase everything ourselves! Here's what we got this weekend: .
I bought the infant car seat because it was on clearance and there was one left. Dh thinks it's too early to have the car seat, but I feel like I didn't have a choice.

Been picking up a lot of outfits and cloth diapers since family bought the stroller and car seat. But we did buy the nursery set the other day and more fox stuff.

Where is that fox lovey from!? I looooove foxy things. And I now need that.
Baby Aspen makes a few fox things Amazon prices are lil cheaper though. We are addicted to all the foxy things too.
But this is the discontinued one I really loved, sad can't find it anywhere now . . .
I'm jealous of all you girls buying all this stuff. It's my 3rd (we have a boy and a girl) and we really don't need much so we haven't even started buying anything besides bringing home outfit and a few onesies.
No I hadn't seen these before. I may have to do that especially since it does the white noise. We have a couple of hounds next door that bark and howl non-stop.
The only thing I've purchased for this baby is a take-home dress if it happens to be girl. And a video monitor which we are already putting to use with DS. This thread inspired me to get something so I just ordered these:
Next up will be a small can of orange paint for one wall in the nursery and hopefully some faux wood wall paper for the opposite wall (behind the crib)
Mine is not near as fun as a lot of y'all's. We bought a car seat.
We are finishing our basement and dd1 will move down there and then her room will be the nursery. I'm trying to to buy things until then because right now everything we have for the baby is in my room since the entire downstairs is a construction zone.
Yesterday I bought a sheer curtain panel on clearance at Target. Tonight I think we are going to pick up a Craigslist dresser. This weekend will be paint for the nursery.

I haven't bought anything yet. Still trying to complete the registry! I'm hoping most of the stuff will be purchased off the registry, and then we'll just purchase whatever is left over. I will say that I will go crazy at Baby Gap, because I'm a Gap whore.
Question: My apartment building has a laundry room, but I was wondering if anyone knew of special mesh bags to protect baby clothes or a portable baby clothes washer?
Also..what are you guys doing for bathing/creams/soaps? The standard Johnson & Johnson, or organic (Babyganics, Medela? Honest?)

You could use lingerie bags? I plan on using them for little things like socks.
I put the sample sets for Johnson & johnson, aveeno, babyganics, and honest on my registry to see what works with baby. All small bottles!

Thanks for the suggestion!
Is anyone putting convertible car seats on their registry in addition to the infant ones? I haven't heard reviews for older kids car seats, can any STM's weigh in?

I used Aveeno and Burt's Bees. I liked them both but I think I preferred the Burt's Bees because it was less thick and easier to lather up the baby with. Plus it smells lovely. Obviously both are pricier than Johnson & Johnson, but you only need a teeny tiny bit so it lasts forever. I also had some California Baby, which I don't think is worth the money.

Well I've got answers for you all around today! I would hold off on the convertible seat. You don't want it to expire earlier than you need it to and if it's just sitting somewhere for the first year, you're wasting its life. Does that make sense? Also, they are always coming up with new and better things, so by the time you are ready to switch to a convertible you might want something totally different than you do now. That being said, we have the Chicco NextFit and I love it. It's a great seat! They already have a new model out since we purchased ours over a year ago, so that's what I mean about waiting until you're ready.

holliberry28 - I'm a big fan of episencial for the little guys. We used to use California Baby before they changed their formula in 2012.
Also, I don't know how "crunchy" you are. With most things I don't care, but I did look into it with baby products going on my kid's skin. The Environmental Working Group rates products related to their ingredients:
