What's your favorite aspect of the game?


My main is Astheria, a horde hunter on Sen'jin US.  I'm in a guild called Big Crits, and I've produced their youtube show (yes a reality show about raiders in WoW) for a few years now.  With everything going on that is falling by the wayside a bit though, growing up and real life meh.  I've raided all the "heroic" (now mythic) content to completion since Dragonsoul with them.  I have a few lower level alts (my pally is beautiful).

Do you have alts? Blood Elf Paladin, Undead Warlock, and a plethora of under lvl 50s

If you are comfortable, Server/Faction?: Always Horde, and I've been on the NA and EU servers but lost track of what realms I've been on.

What's your favorite aspect of the game? Fucking love a good raid. It's not like it was in the old days. My favourite period of WoW was WotLK. Raiding ICC was the most fun I've had in that game.

Do you have alts? Yep alliance night elf hunter, Horde blood elf death knight, and a bunch of other little guys just to check out starting areas and different classes.

If you are comfortable, Server/Faction?: I've been gone so long I can't remember but I'm on 2 different ones.

What's your favorite aspect of the game? I like dungeons and earning all the achievements. I've been working on the quest achievement which is taking forever but still fun.... And should get me the world discovery achievement at the same time.

What is your main? My DH just reactivated his account after a 3 year hiatus and runs around with a night elf priest. I created a panda shaman (alliance) to play around with in my free time. He wants me to reactivate my account in april... we shall see.

I made a lot of friends that I have kept in contact with, so mostly the social aspect.

I used to play Dungeons and Dragons online with DH. I tried WoW but couldn't get into it. I haven't played DDO in a long time though (pretty much since I got pregnant when DD 3 years ago).

Wow hiatus here, sadly. I was really into the latest expansion, but as soon as I get pregnant two things happen: sciatica - making raiding difficult as my ass hurts SO much after any extended sitting, and motion sickness, making any gaming tough.
Main is an alliance night elf Mage, fav alt is alliance night elf rogue. I love night elves apparently.
Server: Norganon
Fav aspect of the game is continued playability. Constant changes, an evolving world, and many different combinations characters/skill sets, it all helps to keep my ADD brain very happy.

No offense jedimomtricks but I hate rogues! Backpicking motherfuckers! There always seems to be one that hangs around in the low levels just camping out the little guys. I should be in a pve realm but all my friends/guild are in pvp. I've tried playing a rogue and just can't get the hang of it, which makes me hate them even more, they just get the best of me no matter what. End mini wow rant.

Rogues must be the most difficult class to master. It was the first class MH chose, and he was so determined to stick it out and get good at it. It took him years. He's taken a break with me, and I know if we go back to it he'll be so out of touch with Rogues again that it'll take him months of work to get back where he was. And they are indeed bastards.

Do you have alts? Not really - some low level ones but nothing that compared to my main.

What's your favorite aspect of the game? I loved PvP, specifically battlegrounds. That's the main reason I can't get back into it - I would need to level up, gear up, and re-learn my specs before I could even be remotely successful at pvp again.

There was nothing more infuriating than just trying to level and get your quests done when out of nowhere you would get sapped and subsequently killed in 3 seconds flat by some high level rogue.  H came to my defense sometimes when I was getting ganked so hard that I couldn't even do what I needed to do.  That was always excellent because H was a badass (like astheria).

LOL funny enough, I also hate Rogues. Other rogues anyways, haha. I still haven't mastered most of the stealth attacks and whatnot, it's not easy to learn with minimal time and they just changed everything again. It's mostly sentimental attachment that keeps me playing my rogue from time to time, it was the first character I made! I know, loser mc loser face over here.

ETA: I've been meaning to get more use out of the rogue in PVP, but I'm just not geared enough for it yet, and I'm not good enough lol...

Another thought, not many people IRL know that I play, I feel like women can be super judgey about gaming. I don't lie about it, I just don't necessarily bring it up. Any one else on the DL with their gaming or are ya'll loud and proud?

I know what you mean about this, but I'm definitely loud and proud. It's pretty obvious that I'm a geek to my friends without mentioning it, so it's not that big of a deal when it "comes out". My sisters are the judgey type, though -- but they've been judging me since I was little so I'm used to that and stopped caring 

When I was a teacher, I used to get major respect from most of my students over it. I taught animation mostly to 17-18 year old boys, and they were all very gamey and geeky.

Agree 100%! MH and I lived in different countries when we first "met", so it was awesome to get to run around together online in the early days!

I haven't personally played WoW but I just wanted to chime in to say my husband and I have also bonded over a bunch of different MMORPGs ourselves (Maplestory, Flyff, Aika, Guild Wars 2 to name a few). I am also not ashamed about gaming, but I work in IT with mostly guys, many of which are also gamers.

Man. All this WoW talk is making me reeeaaally nostalgic. So want to reactivate my account, but I was determined to wait until I'm back in Canada so I can go on the NA servers again and play with my peeps.

I got into it with DH as well. We actually ran a guild on an RP server very early on. Then we caught the raiding bug and moved up in ability etc. The guild I'm in has had a running gag basically since i've been there that i'm pregnant (i'm one of the few women in guild). And now there's actually a due date! :-p
