S hasn't been in disposables since the hospital and she is about to turn 1. We are taking a trip by plane to see an ailing relative soon and will be staying two nights in a hotel. I do not know if it will have laundry facilities. Not sure what to do regarding diapers. We could do disposables, I suppose, but they make me nervous just from my inexperience (silly, no?). But I also don't really want to haul a bunch of diapers (esp. dirty ones) in my luggage. I do have a dozen flats and a handful of covers. I'd probably still use our fitteds for overnight regardless. So, what do you think? What have you done?

For all the hassle, I'd just do disposables, especially with plane travel. There are some really good disposable options out there (organic, chemical free, biodegradable, etc).

This. I'm not opposed to disposables in the right place. If you really don't want to use them I'd go with flats and/or prefolds. Maybe some best bottoms. Natural fibers will be less finicky about going three days before washing.
I just recently flew with diapers and it was incredibly easy. I packed a separate small bag with clean diapers and then used that same bag to bring the dirty ones back. I packed prefolds, covers, and some pockets. I did do sposies for ON.

Whatever stresses you out the least. It's really no big deal to travel with cloth, but disposables aren't the worst thing either. We always use disposables when we travel because J gets really stressed at the thought of traveling with cloth, and it's not worth a fight (IMO).
We do the same thing you said (bring flats for day time and fitteds for night). I feel like flats are usually fine with going a couple of days without washing. My husband is totally anti using disposables so we are always the weirdos asking to wash our diapers at people's houses haha.
If I'm going somewhere that laundry facilities are iffy, I usually just do disposables. Traveling with cloth isn't hard, it's more of a personal preference. I would pack a separate bag like PPs have mentioned to take clean ones there and dirties back. Make sure you have enough diapers and wet bags so you aren't sweating not having either. I would also take the flats (minus your ON solution) because they are more forgiving then soak your ON solution in the morning in some hot water to help prevent ammonia.
