Anyone become pregnant after an IUI?

I know I don't really belong on this board. But the question I'm asking can only be answered by someone who's gotten pregnant after doing an IUI,  So I hope you don't mind. I just had my second IUI yesterday. So I know I can't possibly be pregnant yet. But this one was so different from the last one. Last time I really felt nothing at all, no cramping-I didn't feel anything for the whole two weeks except the gross leaking of progesterone suppositories.  

Yesterday as soon as he did the IUI I start feeling some cramping, which I know can be common. But I also feel like I have ovary tenderness still and a little lower back pain.  I also feel really tired. Today I stood up and I felt dizzy. Its all probably in my head, I'm just wondering if any of you experienced any of this during your two week wait. Or how your two week wait resulting in a BFP was different from the ones with a BFN.

I got my BFP with my 4th iui. Although nothing felt that different during my TWW something was different about the nurse who did it. DH had a good feeling from the second he saw her. I know that doesn't really help with your questions. It's too early to be feeling anything but I understand that every little new symptom can make you feel hopeful and make you think this time will be different. I did it with all my iui's. Good luck!

I did 5IUIs and they all were different in cramping levels. I really think it is how well they wash the sperm to remove prostaglandins and how far they get the catheter in the ute that drives the cramping.... symptom spotting will drive you nuts but we all do/did it.

And I hope others chime in, I know we have several IUI grads here:) hope you get to stick around too!

I did six IUIs - sometimes there was cramping, ovary sensitivity, etc. but it must have simply been from the meds or the procedure for me, as I did not get a BFP that way. The progesterone definitely messed with my head in terms of symptoms, too.

When I did get a BFP (via IVF) I have had dizziness and exhaustion. The cramping somehow felt "different" from previous cycles, but I can't really describe it.

In any case, I know that the 2WW can be maddening. Good luck to you. I hope that you get your good news soon!

So weird, I got up yesterday from sitting and was very dizzy. I thought maybe I got up too fast but it happened again today. And I'm definitely tired but isn't it too early. It's only 2dpiui

Yes, too early as implantation occurs 7-10 days after ovulation. 

Are you on progesterone? or did you take a trigger shot of HCG? I think both of those can contribute to being tired and dizzy....

I did the trigger and don't start the progesterone till tomorrow. IFinTN. What doesn't make sense I've also heard implantation is 6-13 days but the a perm doesn't last that long in you so why is it so far away?

The egg gets released and is fertilized in the fallopian tube within 24 hours, so the sperm has already done its job and they die shortly thereafter. It takes another 7-10 days for the fertilized egg to travel down the fallopian tube and implant in your uterus.

Okay got it. Thanks. So it's two parts- it's not just fertilizing it's implanting too. Is it often that an egg is fertilized but doesn't implant? God why can't it just be one step so you are or aren't. Lol

butterfly712, yes, its possible the egg fertilized but the embryo does not implant in the uterus or implants in the wrong place, like the fallopian tubes. This is called an ectopic pregnancy and is not viable.

Implantation issues are common, that's why we encourage those on clomid to get proper monitoring. If your lining was thinned by the clomid, then it would be near impossible for an embryo to implant.

Gotcha! Thanks for all Ur help! I was in Menopur injections but no clue about my lining. Does progesterone help w that?

If they were monitoring your follicles, they were also looking at your lining. If it was not thick enough, they would have likely canceled your IUI. So it's probably not an issue but can't hurt to ask them what the lining thickness was at trigger. It should be at least 7mm.

Progesterone does not usually thicken lining but rather keeps the lining thick. Progesterone is what keeps you from shedding your lining. In a normal cycle, if no HCG is detected (meaning not pregnant) then when progesterone levels drop your body sheds the uterine lining. Typically this is 10-14 days after ovulation.

Oh yea!! Ur right they were, it was above 8. I remember now. Duh! Ya after the last one I took a test on day 14 BFP. Then stopped progesterone and got my period the next day. Ugh! Fingers crossed this doesn't happen again.

Heya! I had success with unmedicated IUI #2. I didn't get any implantation bleeding - so don't count yourself out if you don't have any either. I started to feel the same symptoms of every previous BFN cycle... which just ended up being PMS. Sore breasts, ovary twinges, breakout, etc. The only difference I noticed were twinges much lower than my normal PMS twinges... I think those were right around days 8/9/10. But it wasn't distinct enough for me to think that I was for sure KU.

I hope the TWW goes by swiftly for you and that you get your BFP!
