Tell us about your (clothes) closet. Is it extremely organized or is it a big mess? Any quirky things you do to keep up with the organization? What about eveyone else's in your family?
DH and I have been sharing a closet ever since LO came along, it's a decent size closet so it's not too bad. DH's side is pretty well organized with towels, sweatshirts, and jeans folded on shelves, shoes on the bottom and everything else hung up. However, my side is just a big mess! It's always been messy but I think being a SAHM has made it worse because I'm not as worried about locating certain items so that I can look put together everyday. Clearly, I have no organization quirks besides the fact that as long as I can get the door shut so I dont have to look at the mess, I'm good. I really need to work on this. DD's closet started out very organized but as she has gotten bigger and accumulated more stuff, we are very quickly running out of room and getting messy. Her closet holds items like extra diapers, wipes, toys for when shes a bit older, a few random baby items that she no longer needs, diaper bag, baby carriers, and of course her clothes. Her closest is so tiny (maybe 2 feet by 2 feet) so it's not supposed to hold all this but we really don't have much room to put these items elsewhere.
I organize my closet about 4 times a year, in between it slowly deteriorates into a big mess and then drives me crazy enough to organize again. DD just has a dresser and hers stays pretty organized since she has a small wardrobe and outgrows things pretty quickly so I have to regularly go through her things. DH keeps his closet and dresser moderately organized, but he almost never goes through his things. He had a ton of clothes but only ever wore about 1/4 of them, so I recently had him go through everything and tell me what he didn't need so I could donate them.
H and I share a walk-in closet. We split the space evenly - my husband may actually have more shoes than me! I organize my clothes by type - so all skirts together, all dresses together, all maternity clothes together, etc. Except after I gave birth I made a separate space: clothes that fit. So that's now something of a random combination of the clothes I still felt comfortable wearing or fit in after DS was born - I knew my belly would be different, but who knew the boobs would never go back to their original size? It's a depressingly small amount of my closet.
But now that I'm pregnant again and we're planning to move in the next few months, I have the motivation to get rid of some of the clothes I just wasn't going to fit in again for whatever reason. I don't want to bother moving things I'm not going to wear again. So Goodwill should be getting lots of things, including a lot of high heels I can't be bothered to wear anymore, soon!
When we remolded our house we took what used to be just storage and utility closet and made it into a big walk-in so its like a small room. Its pretty 50/50 my stuff his stuff. My man friend has more clothes then any man I know. My stuff is organized by color. I used to switch out winter and summer but that is just a pain so its all color coordinated now. My shoes are color coordinated too.

I like to think it's organized... It is organized to me. I can find everything. Other people might think it is weirdly organized but it works for me. Also, in our current house, h and I have our own double closets in our room. Best thing ever.
Oh goodness. My closet. Actually mine isn't sooo bad. DD's closet right now is horrendous! She pulled all of the clothes, bedding, towels, everything off the cubbies in her closet so it's ALL on the floor. I will get around to picking it up soon. I've actually been putting it off b/c I want to take the cubbies out all together and just haven't gotten to it yet.
The guest room closet is also a mess b/c it's become a catchall for toys she doesn't play with anymore, plus extra stuff that we have around. It's terrible.
And DH and my closet....well, laundry takes over the floor on the regular but other than that it's relatively clean. We've been talking about doing a big overhall and clearing out all the clothes we don't wear anymore. Hopefully this weekend I'll get to this. All of our closets have been weighing on me lately.
It is organized, but not to an extreme. We have a high bar with DH's stuff on it, a low bar with my stuff on it, and a med-high bar with mostly my stuff and some of DH's stuff on it that are long, like dresses and dress shirt trees (is that what those multi-hanger things are called?). There is a shelf way up at the top that has extra pillows and sleeping bags and my kids' baby keepsake boxes, and the hamper is under my low bar, which is only half-full of clothes since I have lots of long stuff. There is a shoe-rack on the opposite side from the hamper where DH and I keep our extra shoes. (Boots get stored under the bed.)

My clothes are a big mess. The only clothes that are hanging up are the ones that I don't wear. Other than that, the clothes I always wear are the ones that never make it out of the laundry basket in my bedroom. My dirty clothes go down the laundry shoot to the basement. Then I wash them from there and when they're done I take the basket to my room where my clothes will sit until I pull them out to wear. Whatever's wrinkly (which is almost everything), I iron them out every morning.
