Hi everyone! I also posted this on aug 2015 and risky pregnancies. I wanted to introduce myself and ask a question. I am 16 weeks with baby number two after I had 28 week pprom with my son. He held in and was delivered at exactly 31 weeks and spent 30 days in the nicu. This pregnancy I have developed a subchirionic hemorrhage, low lying placenta and am being monitored by MFM every two weeks for cervical ultrasounds.
I'm starting p17 injections tomorrow and wanted to know if any of you have any advice or have had any side effects to share? I was on the progesterone suppositories for the first tri (had a loss back in the fall) and the suppositories seemed to go well without major effects. Just wondering if anyone had info in the p17? I'm a huge baby when it comes to needles but will do anything to help this little one stay in longer! Thanks!

Thanks for the replies. Had my first shot today and it wasn't too bad. Just feeling a little sore which is no big deal. Hoping the rest go this smoothly and these help baby stay put until full term.
I got them from weeks 17-36. They really weren't painful, aside from the little prick. The worst part for me was the itching and bruising afterward. Totally worth it! Good luck!
Yup, like PPs, just soreness at the injection site. DH gives me mine every week (he went in the first week to receive his instructions). I figure by the time we're done with the shot, he'll finally have figured out how to inject me without hesitation. Curently, he hesitates, and the needle goes in far too slowly. Which HURTS.
I don't normally post here, but I thought I would chime in. I am 16 shots in, with 5 to go (but who's counting, right?!). MH gives them to me, and due to variation in technique, some hurt a lot more than others. We went through a capillary once, which was pretty awful. But on the whole, the shots haven't been bad, and I used to be SUPER afraid of needles. If you have a nurse doing them, I am sure it's even easier. The only side effects for me have been injection site itching and sometimes soreness, and only-possibly-related constipation. GL to you!
I took daily progesterone shots for most of my pregnancy and had a reaction to the oil it was in so the area got really sore. It was suggested to me that a tennis ball would help. My DH would give me the injection and then rub the area in circular motions with a tennis ball for a few minutes and it worked wonders!
I hope you don't have to deal with too much pain but if you do definitely try the tennis ball trick. Good luck!
