Help! I am going to buy a treadmill or an elliptical. I don't know which to get. Just looking to get my lazy self moving. I can't run outside because I leave for work at 7 and I will not run alone in the dark. Any preferences? Thanks!
I like both. I prefer treadmill but have kicked my own ass on the elliptical at the gym. Elliptical are good because they're gentle in the joints. Which one to you think you'd use more?
At the gym are you a treadmill person or an elliptical person?
Either one is as good as the effort you're going to put in, so it's just a matter of personal preference. My first thought though was that if you buy an elliptical, you can still run outside once it's lighter and then you have more options (at least for part of the year).

I personally prefer the treadmill, but only because, like JoeLies said, the elliptical is only as good as what you put into it. I know myself well enough to know I'm lazier on the elliptical!
I have never really used either. I was a gymnast as a kid. We had some hardcore workouts involving lots of power tumbling. I was in fantastic shape. Those workouts are no longer an option. I wish I could love running but I don't. All my friends who run talk about how relaxing it is. I spend the whole time thinking about how I wish I wasn't running. I do want to look good though and I need more energy. Now that T sleeps through the night I think I can get up earlier to workout. I hate when people say "you look good for having 3 kids." I know they mean well but I want to say something like "if I looked like this and I didn't have 3 kids, does that mean I don't look good?"
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I think I'm leaning towards treadmill because DH would probably use it too. I don't see him on an elliptical.
