I'm pretty sure I didn't see a similar post on the other board that won't be named The majority of info I see recommends first dental check at one year. Have you gone? If so, what was your experience? If not, do you have an age you plan to? My guy is not very.. go with the flow? I struggle thinking this will be anything but torture for him

I need to get more on top of Cadence "brushing" her teeth. I will also probably take her to the dentist soon now that I have dental insurance for her. I don't image it being her favorite place in the world, but if she doesn't bite the dentist I would count it as a win.
When DS1 was 1 I called 3 dentists and all of them said they don't see then until age 3 unless you think there is a problem. There reason was before that the kids are scared and it sets them up for negative experiences in the future.
V still only has a few teeth! 3 fully in with two more that have broken through. I asked my dentist at my checkup last week, and he said to bring her in between 2-3 years of age.

We've gone at a year with all three of my kids and they did fine! My middle son was born with a cleft palate (I don't know if I've told anyone that here?) so we had more worries about his teeth and whatnot, but luckily it doesn't appear to have effected them at all!

This is all really helpful, thank you! I was worried that we were behind since we haven't gone yet. We have been (trying) to brush his teeth. Some days are more successful than others, lol.
I haven't taken N yet. I was waiting until she got more teeth. She only has 4 right now, with another one coming in. We do brush her teeth every night.

One of my cousins just had to get root canals performed on their 2 1/2 year old, so that scared the heck out of me and I started calling multiple places. My dentist had said what Kim's did. I found a local pediatric dentist that said they should have their first visit around 12 months so they scheduled him a couple weeks from now, and that was the earliest opening I could get.
They're going to do a flouride treatment and check the progress of the teeth that are coming in, etc.
In the meantime, switched A to a toothpaste with xylitol to remineralize his teeth.
cagoldi root canals?! that's terrible. Poor thing. My sister had quite a few cavities in her baby teeth as a result of going to bed with a WCM bottle...my mom has nagged reminded me about this frequently. After reading all this, I feel like I need to get B in to the dentist!
