Welcome to the 3rd Tri Check In! I’m posting a day early because tomorrow is going to be nuts! I have a bunch of appointments, I REALLY want to get a pedicure, and it’s DD’s 2nd birthday, so after her two year check up, we will probably take her out for dinner

Holy moly did we have an eventful week! Congratulations to all the new mommas and babies this week! Welcome to all our new members of 3rd tri!

We will welcome ladies at 28 weeks until their LO(s) make their grand entrance!

Can I be added?? I am 28 weeks today and my official due date is May 31, but the OB says no more than 38 weeks for me, so I guess May 15ish is more accurate?

I'm super excited to be in 3rd tri! Not really excited about my twice weekly BPP/NSTs starting on Tuesday until delivery. I'm being monitored very closely because of my age, my pre-existing hypertension, and my gestational diabetes.

Anyone with BPP experience? I've read up on it but curious to hear from those who've done it.

Also, it was requested that we have L&D watch list. I noticed the next due date is a few weeks away, so I removed the pinned thread and will put it up again in a few weeks unless someone here tells me they want to be put on it earlier:)

IFinTN - Congrats on being in the third tri! I can't believe you're going to have twice weekly scans--that's a lot of time in the Dr's! Hope all goes well for you.

AFM, I'm having a bit of a rough patch with back problems--not the usual lower back pain, but a kink near my right shoulder blade that makes computer work difficult (so I probably should reserve all computer time for actual work, but I need to keep in touch with you ladies!). Second visit with the chiro is tomorrow. Life these days revolves around trying to get comfy and manage my low energy levels: Sit in ergo station and work. Notice that legs are swelling and back hurts. Move to lie down with legs up for a while, icing back. Go for walk to try to get exercise. Take nap. Repeat. Otherwise, I'm now 34+2 and starting to get antsy about having everything together and ready for go time. Current project is working on the hospital bag. This is my last two-week stretch before weekly visits, although I won't have anything special like scans, NSTs, or cervix checks unless I go past my due date. Just the usual vitals, HB check, and belly measurement. My work shower is Wednesday, too, so after that we will buy anything left on the registry.

QOTW: A few people have told me I look like the band camp girl from American Pie. I don't think it's a strong resemblance, but it's there a little bit.

I'm 30w2d--can't believe it! And I hear you, ProfessorChaos, I also feel like my day revolves around me being comfortable. I got myself an exercise/birthing ball, and I'm going to fit it into my sitting rotation whenever possible. And DH and I finally cleaned up and prepared some space for the baby; it's gotten me so excited! Hopefully we can keep things this clean and organized! We move cross-country about a month after my EDD so organization is key to make the changes/move manageable.

QOTW: I've weirdly gotten a lot, mostly from strangers and acquaintances, but it's not always the same person. Cameron Diaz, Natasha Bedingfield, Dianna Agron, Claire Danes, and once even ScarJo on a plane. I've really no resemblance to any of these, but yeah, I'm blonde.

What an amazing week - congrats to all the new moms!! My SIL had her baby yesterday, so the trend just continues!!

AFM, I'm completely amazed that I'm at 30 weeks now! I'll probably update again later this week since I have an ultrasound tomorrow to see if my placenta is still low lying or if it has moved up. I was SO close to what they wanted at my 21 week scan, so they said it will probably be fine. Honestly, I'm not too bummed that I get another peek at LO!

Otherwise, I've been having a lot of braxton hicks contractions since Wednesday, especially in the afternoons. I've had some bad cramping in addition, but mostly it's just my stomach tightening but I can't feel anything. I also found out at my OB appointment on Thursday that I am slightly anemic, so I'm hoping that by taking a supplement, it will help with some of the fatigue I've been feeling.

QOTW: I've consistently gotten two ever since college. One is Natalie Portman (I've gotten this one a bunch and I'd semi agree so long as it's her in her teens and 20s - she has a very different jawline from me though, so I see it less now) and the other is Emily Van Camp (she's currently on Scandal - but she has much lighter hair than I do - this one I see way less but I've gotten it a few times).

I can completely relate to ProfessorChaos. Last week was my first week working freelance from home, although half the time I was at a local conference. But the days I was home, I was either cramming in work or having to rest/nap to recover. It is a little frustrating that now I have more time to get things done but I need to spend half of it laying down...but I guess that's how it goes at this point. 32w1d today!

QOTW: I used to get Christina Ricci all the time. But since I gained some weight in the last 2 years, I don't hear it as much. A few people have recently said Amy Adams with brown hair.

I'm doing alright. Still chugging along with the normal complaints of back pain, heartburn, and fatigue. I'm gaining too much weight so I'm trying to figure out what to do about that. It's definitely a "rock and a hard place" situation - feeling like you need to eat carefully and NEEDING food like you haven't eaten in weeks. I know some people can embrace the weight and throw cares into the wind as they indulge in delicious pregnancy cravings, but for me it isn't so easy. I feel overwhelming guilt and shame about the excess weight I've gained. I know I'll figure it out eventually. I'm just feeling particularly helpless at the moment.

QOTW: I've been told on numerous occasions I look like Kiera Knightly. I think it's my eyebrows and smile.

kmc84 can I be added please. I'll be 28 weeks on Wednesday but was already given the goodbye from 2nd tri so I guess I go here now! EDD is June 3 with one boy.

I have my 3 hr glucose test on Wednesday since I didn't pass the 1 hr last week and I'm completely dreading it. I was so upset and shocked last week after getting the news. Really praying I pass it and that I don't end up passing out (I don't do well with fasting especially for that long).


QOTW: used to get Meredith Monroe from Dawson's creek when that was on which I could see a little but nothing recently.

Nothing new here. I'm starting to feel the fatigue and uncomfortable-ness of third tri.  Especially when I'm sleeping at night. I have another routine appointment this afternoon. I can hardly believe I'm at the point of appointments every two weeks already! He's lodged something up under my right rib, so that's fun. 

We painted his nursery this weekend...and LOVE IT! Now we just need his crib and dresser.

My welcome to 3rd tri Monday morning...wake up wet, really wet. Cue freak out, OB says go to OB triage. Test for amniotic fluid negative. They decide to do my BPP today and he passed with 8/8 and amniotic fluid levels are on upper side of normal. Soooo, yeah, I likely peed myself while sleeping. Fun times, fun times....

Lucky for me I wear poise micro liners anyway....so the pad was the only thing that got soaked this time:)

Glad everything was okay IFinTN! I've read in multiple places that it's a good idea to put waterproof pads under your sheets in the last few weeks. I just bought some as part of my "postpartum care kit," and this is a good reminder that I actually need to put it on!

Here is a great benefit to the waterproof mattress cover......post partum night sweats. It's unreal how much you will sweat at night. I learned that the hard way, lol- no one warned me!

Well ladies, I have had a shittastic day

I had an OB visit with BPP, NST, and growth scan...BPP and NST were good and growth scan had baby around 60%.  My LFTs and bile salts have increased dramatically, which is not good.  I had stat labs run today and they are up more from just a few days ago.  My OB sent me over to MFM where the shitstorm continued...... he interrogated me about my blood sugars and was not nice about it.  He had the baby measuring in the 96%, so I don't know WTF is going on growth wise....  FWIW, endocrine has never been concerned with my sugars this entire pregnancy and all my scans have been good.....WTF?!?!?  He also dropped the words "fetal demise" twice when talking about the cholestasis and diabetes...I know this is a possibility but it hurts so much more when it's actually said out loud. 

I'm going in to see my endo tomorrow about my blood sugars, but seriously, they have been good. I so didn't need to be kicked when I was already down....

My OB is considering delivering me as soon as Friday, but definitely no longer than 2 weeks from now. I am going in Wednesday and Friday this week for BPPs and NSTs and the possibility that I may get sent straight to the hospital.... The icing on this crappy cake is that this child is breech AGAIN!!!!! WTF! Seriously!  So, I am probably going to wind up with a section after all.  My OB is very pro vaginal birth and he was visibly disappointed she was still breech.  My accupunturist squeezed me in today to try and get the baby to turn and she is going to see me again on Wednesday. I REALLY don't want a section, but I feel like just giving up....I want this kid out.  I'm scared to death of something awful happening at this point because my labs are really getting that bad....

There is a medicine the OB mentioned, but it can cause clotting issues, so I'd need vitamin K shots.... It doesn't help the problem, just the symptoms, so I'll just deal with the crazy itchies rather than tempt another problem.

I got to speak to our pediatrician at A's check up today and she was reassuring.  She said even if she came now, she would do well.  The cholestasis will likely give us some jaundice issues which they will treat with bili lights in the NICU.

This sucks, sucks, sucks. My pregnancy and delivery with A was so uncomplicated. I know people have it worse than me, and I'm sorry if I sound like brat I'm just stuck in bitch and moan mode right now.....

kmc84 no need to apologize, all of that really does suck. I know you don't want the CS but I am glad you are being monitored and taken care of and realize if it happens, it happens. We want baby here safe and for your levels to get better ASAP!! ((Big creepy hugs)) and TP to that MFM!!

kmc84, ((hugs)). That's a lot of bad news in one day! It also sounds like the doc needs some lessons in how to talk to freaked out pregnant women. I'm sorry you had to go through that. The silver lining here is that you're so far along, so your little girl will be okay no matter what the outcome. CSs aren't the worst things in the world, so don't be too hard on yourself about that. Just be gentle with yourself. This one is totally out of your hands.

kmc84. Ugh I am so sorry about all that. I can totally understand you disappointment with the birth plan. I really want a med free, but with my looming dd near and me not progressing at all except for contractions I fear an induction will happen if I can't get my body to dilate.

Well-today has been interesting too. My endo was livid with the MFM and she's actually been trying to educate him about the differences in GD and Type 1.

My BP was up at the endo and I've been having lots of contractions again. I had a horrid night with insane itching and I just don't feel well. My endo sent me to my OB today and they did another NST which was good. We had a long chat about all the grey areas with gestational age, diabetes, and cholestasis. I have some serious concerns about the safety of the baby at this point and my OB agreed. I am now booked for a c/s Friday morning....

I have a bpp and NST tomorrow and if by some miracle baby has turned back around, I am going to beg for an induction tomorrow.

I saw my acupuncturist again today to try and turn baby and I'm getting my last pedicure for a while as I type.

I'm trying to get over myself...I was shaking like crazy at the OB! I'm very anxious about the surgery and that the baby is likely going to need NICU time. I know it will all be ok, I'm just feeling like a wreck right now!

kmc84 i am so sorry you are going through all of this. I'd be feeling exactly how you are if i were in your situation. remind me again, how many weeks are you (on mobile)?

i really hope baby flips. i also think you should get more than a pedi if you can. i know yh would be game for watching A while you took care of yourself a little more. i think you need it...to help release some stress. not that you need or asked for advice...i am just picturing how i would be in your shoes (which would be somewhere between a psychotic mess; sobbing and then probably snapping at the next fool who looked at me funny.)

I'm 35+3 today. I'm definitly walking a fine line between hysterics, numbness, and losing it on someone! I just stopped at the grocery store-that could be interesting. I don't think we're going to tell my in-laws what's going on because they try to be helpful but they're just so overbearing and I absolutely cannot handle the 10,000 questions they would be asking right now.

DH is a huge help. He actually started leave today because I have SO many appointments this week now! I also have lots I want to do at home. I may try and get a massage too.....

What is the saying?.....Life is what happens when you're busy making other plans?
