Lo slept great for the first half of the night... then he was a complete terror after the middle of the night feed. It took dh and I over 2 hours to get him back down. He was going down easier for his 2nd stretch but now it's a struggle again. I hope this is a short phase. I wish he'd hurry up and finish nursing so I can go get coffee.
DS was awful like I'd never seen before last night he cried for three hours straight it tools forever to get him back down I ended up having to sleep on the couch with him because he liked the kitchen light which is super weird. As soon as we would bring him in there he would just stop crying. He's currently still asleep so I'm trying to tip for around the house getting ready for work so SO can get some rest too. Hopefully it works.

C went down at his normal 9 o'clock time last night, so glad the time change didn't seem to affect him, and woke up when my DH was getting ready for work around 530. I brought him to bed with me to nurse and we both actually got some more sleep!! I'm awake and he is still napping, and I know I should be doing things, but the bed feels so good and he is so darn cute

Little guy went to slept from 8-5 then 6-almost 9 and now 10 until......not sure, which is why I should be in the shower and doing things that should be done, but the internet is far more fun. How else would I have found these little pants that I'm pretty sure ds is going to need at some point. I need to find someone who knits because I'm too cheap to pay this much. img1.etsystatic.com/055/0/9400883/il_570xN.711897109_c3zo.jpg
Baby girl slept from 830ish til 5 this morning ate then slept again until 8. She was an amazing baby yesterday at the bridal shower and when we went shopping and out to eat after. She barely napped all day so I'm pretty sure thats why she slept to well last night but I'll take it. Guess I just have to party with her everyday. Its supposed to be over 40 today so I'm thinking of taking my kids for a walk we could all use the fresh air.
LO had a seven-hour stretch as well and i think it is also because we were out with er half the day! I think they get tired too
@littlefoote it was always our families policy that if you stayed home sick from school there is no TV or video games or anything. And for what it's worth, I would also be irrationally angry about the turn of events.

I had such a rough night. I started getting DS ready for bed (feed, change diaper, swaddle) at 8 pm and he didn't go to sleep until 1 am. MH worked night shift and I was all alone. DS wouldn't stop crying except for maybe 5 min and I couldn't stop crying either. He wouldn't take his pacifier, but then would keep pulling back on my nipple if I tried to feed him. My nipples are so sore this morning still, I'm exhausted, and nervous about my root canal today.
I guess I got decent sleep last night. LO slept two 4-hour stretches, then another 1.5. I can't complain, but I'm still tired. Her first 4 hour stretch was in her momaroo because I fell asleep on the couch, so I guess the feeling of not having enough sleep comes from the fact that a good part of the sleep I got was on the couch, not in bed. My own fault.
Today I'm going to see BIL in the hospital. Hopefully he's looking better today and can get out of the ICU. Then later I'm having some people over to watch The Bachelor. I'm looking forward to seeing some friends tonight and not sitting at home with just my husband.

Sorry you had such a bad night. I think I've only cried once and yep, it was during the night when baby didn't want to eat or sleep and holding him didn't seem to work either. That night sucked. It's easier to keep it together in the day. Good luck with your root canal, I had one of those, not fun.
Our household did not adjust well to the hour change. And it didn't help that dh and I woke up MOTN to DTD (2 thumbs up). He couldn't go back to sleep and I kept waking up to feed LO. LO nursed so often yesterday & thru the most of the night. He did give us a good 5 hr stretch of sleep which I should be thankful for. But I couldn't get myself up this morning. I considered calling off work and staying home with LO. Except that I had 3 mtgs on my calendar that I scheduled so I got my tired ass up. I'm about to go get my 2nd cup of coffee.
Another thing about working, taking a spontaneous day off is hard to justify. I have limited paid time off that I'd like to save for a family vacation or when LO gets sick (or I do). Andplusalso, I've already paid for the daycare.
Add me to the Bachelor party tonight. Except DH hates it, and we only have one TV and a smallish house, so I might not be able to watch it when it airs. Maybe the MOTN nursing sessions tonight will be spent in front of the TV.
I was going to work out during lunch, but I had to deal with something at work, so I may not. My abs were so sore this weekend that I had to find a new method to get out of bed. I need to get in shape.
DS is definitely not sick, but he is obeying me by staying in bed. Grr. That irritates me, but hopefully he learns he can't get out of things he doesn't want to do simply because he doesn't "feel" like doing it. Sometimes you gotta do things you don't want to. That's life. But at four, hopefully he starts catching into that and that we don't repeat this again tomorrow.
Aww he's so little. You have lots of babies in your house. My mom used to tell us that if we were sick she'd have to take us to see the dr. Made us think twice about pulling the sick card out.

My mom did that too! Very few sick days at our house....
This is probably tmi, but is anyone else queefing more pp? I'm glad I do my yoga at home because it would be quite embarrassing at a gym lol.
This genuinely made me LoL... I'm sorry, but all I can think about is the South Park episode where they talk about queefing! (Look it up if you haven't seen it )

Yesterday was... interesting. Enjoyed the time with DH, went out to eat, saw the Goonies house, watched a crap load of seals bark at each other. The drive home sucked though. 30 minutes age we left, LO would not stop crying because she wanted to be held. We just wanted to get home, so we accommodated her for 10 minutes and tried to get back on the road. She was still unhappy so I jumped on the backseat to be with her. A 2 hour drive took us 3 hours due to traffic, and an hour from home, at a complete stop, she pooped a lot and was inconsolable. When we got home, I changed her, put her in jammies, and fed her "from the tap". (She drinks from a bottle, but is not a big fan of it. Mommy got tipsy off of one beer and LO ate lunch from bottle.) DH left this morning to go to Palm Springs for a software developers convention for the week. It's my first time having the LO to myself for an extended period of time. I'm wishing family lived way closer, I have no one to help out all this week. It's 10 am and I'm just now pumping for the first time today. I skipped my 4 am session to sleep and am regretting it. My boobs were about to explode when I woke up at 8 am.

luciddreamer I'm sorry your night was so rough. We have had a few like those. It's the worst because you think that you're doing the responsible thing by going to bed early and it's turning out to be pointless. I think we are still trying to figure out the right bedtime for LO.. Hopefully as they get older these types of nights will be less common.
@littlefoote how frustrating. Good coffee is the one thing I try to do for myself every day, and I fall apart when it doesn't work out. At least you're following through with DS.
My night last night wasn't bad. I think we've hit the six week growth spurt, though. We've done frequent nursing all morning, every 1.5 to 2 hours. And putting DD1 down for her afternoon nap was a total shit show. She's still overtired from a play date yesterday evening coupled with the time change, so she was whining and breaking down and being uncooperative throughout the whole process of getting changed and reading stories. Meanwhile, LO was inconsolable and fuss-nursing the whole time. I got so frustrated that I called them a couple of nightmares under my breath, then felt intensely guilty afterwards. Mom of the year. Is it too early to start drinking?
Both of my kids were up super late because of the time change (like 2am late!). My 5 year old is so loud and will not be quiet, when I ask her to she gets louder (grrr!). I have both kids in my room so it can make things really hard some nights but lo usually passes out around 10 or 11 and I can put him to bed in the co-sleeper, not sure what was wrong last night.
Woke up this morning to h throwing up. He says he isn't sick though and he was just having and acidy stomach. I really hope he is right because he was off yesterday and around both kids all day.
I ordered some Mustela cradle cap cream for lo because his head just keeps getting worse. I hope it works because it was kind of expensive.

I like the Mustela newborn foaming shampoo for that - it was pricey but smells great and really washes away some of the flakes!

Oh my, got my first clogged duct and its getting really painful. Ive read up on it, but I don't have time to pump or take a bath like the articles recommend until later tonight. So far nursing and massage aren't whipping it in to shape! Anybody have one of these yet? Tips or thoughts on how long they usually last?!
