Anyone else dealing with headaches and ear ringing?
I've had off and on headaches, and once last week I felt my hearing like shift and then there was this buzzing/ringing. Didn't know if I should blame pregnancy or my own weird body

Update - I had another bleeding scare last night, twice in less than a week. Needless to say, I had another scan done today and all is well for now. The silver lining is that I saw the heartbeat for the first time. Her heart is beating at 100bpm, which the nurse says is good. My next appt. is Friday where I get to talk to my RE and ask lots of questions.

crazycatlady6, I'm glad you saw a hb! Spotting during pregnancy sucks.
firstbbq, I love my OB. She totally gets my fear and passes out the u/s like candy, using the theory that my remaining calm is better for the pregnancy. (My bp was high yesterday before u/s and shockingly normal after. Gee, wonder why?)

crazycatlady6 glad you got to see the hb after that scare! Its always scary having spotting & bleeding. I still dread every visit to the bathroom in fear that I might see it again. Luckily haven't seen any since last Monday, so fx we are both done with seeing red!! Hugs!
BTW, I am also 5'2" DH is 6' so I always have to pull him down for a kiss! lol

@ketchup, I'm sorry the little guy/gal isn't being cooperative. And I know you realize that the guys rarely get what the dr's are saying (not sexist, just they're not the patient, so they're less informed), but it's hard when DH is all rah rah and you just aren't there (I speak from experience). I hope all is well next week. In the meantime, I offer you drinks.
These are all mock tails and here is the site. Maybe making ten different drinks can distract you for 30 seconds?

@ketchup, so I looked through the site and saw that most of those recipes don't match the pictures. So I found This. There's almost 300 recipes. And some are blue.

crazycatlady6, Boo to the stress of another bleeding scare, but glad you got to see the h/b today.
@ketchup, I'm so sorry you're feeling in limbo right now. I'm glad you're able to go back next Tuesday, and gladder to hear that the RE doesn't expect to find anything dire. I am hopeful that your Tiny Tomato is simply marching to the beat of his/her own tiny drum, and everything will pick up steam in due course. (((hugs))), man.

I've been lurking here for weeks ... I guess I better make it official and intro and ask to be added to the check in.
How far are you now?8 wks, 3 days?
How are you feeling? nausea ALL the time ... no actual vomitting, just nausea at all times.
What and when is your next appointment? 3/18 with Obgyn nurse.
Anything else you'd like to share or discuss? @buttmonkey I had a big O in my sleep last week. I woke up like wtfudge ...
QOTW: How do you plan to care for your baby/babies after he/she/they is/are born (i.e. nanny, datcare, stay at home, etc.)? IDK yet ... MIL is retired, DH works from home 3 days a week. We shall see.

Hi ladies. I am late again to check-in. nomnom Could you put x2 in my info for the check-in list? Thanks!
How far are you now? 9w2d
How are you feeling? still dealing with nausea/gagging/vomiting and extreme tiredness
What and when is your next appointment? My next OB appointment is on April 3rd and since we are having twins I will be getting another ultrasound. I also have an appointment on April 8th with the MFM.
Anything else you'd like to share or discuss? I am stil having trouble eating/drinking enough with the nausea. Since 6w3d I have lost about 10 pounds. Has anybody else lost weight?
QOTW: How do you plan to care for your baby/babies after he/she/they is/are born (i.e. nanny, datcare, stay at home, etc.)? I will be staying at home
ETA: In reply to a subsequent comment from bostongirl617, I'm down about 10-12 pounds since I started fertility treatment last summer. None of that was intentional. I'm not too worried about it because I'm well within the healthy range and I'll probably eat more once 2nd tri hits and I have less nausea (FX!).

jetta83306, I'm glad you asked that question and to see nomnom and bostongirl617's input. I thought there was somethign wrong wit me, LOL. I'm down a bit from IVF baseline weight and I was sitting there going, "Is that right?? Surely that's not right??" Apparently it's probably right? Interesting. (Perhaps my stomach's been affected more than I really noticed yet.)

I weighed myself on the day i got my bfp, and then two weeks later, after m/s had already set in. I lost 4 pounds in that time frame. I think if I weighed myself again I wouldn't be surprised if I'd lost more. I'm looking forward to this m/s being gone. It seems a little better at times, others not so much. As much as I don't want to gain weight (since I'm already a big girl, but I know I have to!) losing weight is not the direction I want to be heading right now. But I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one!

Just sitting in the waiting room waiting for my u/s! Nervous!! Hope the little beans are doing well in there. The cutest thing though, a little boy, maybe 4 years old is with his mom who's I'm guessing is 6 months pregnant, and he's crying because he wants to see his baby sister again (he went in to the u/s room with her) and mom is trying to explain it'll still be a few more months until he can see her lol

I lost 8 lbs in the first 2 wks after IVF. My mom took that as a positive pregnancy test. Now at 8 wks Im still down 6 lbs and I've had no vomitting. I'm reading that the metabolism is so high during pregnancy that it happens. My coworker said she LOST weight during her entire pregnancy .... although she and I are both higher on the BMI scale so I guess we "have it" to lose anyway.

Back from u/s
I don't know too much detail since the u/s tech isn't allowed to tell me anything (I get it, I have the same rules in my job as a lab tech - don't give patients results!). I have to make an appointment to find out details, which will have to be next week . BUT, I asked for a picture, and even though it cost me $10, I can see my babies!!!
It says on it they are measuring 9w5d, which is 2 days behind. But I did not do a transvaginal u/s, so I think had they done that, they would probably have measured right on schedule since it's more accurate - at least that is what I'm telling myself so I don't worry! I don't know their heart rates, but the tech at least did show me the flickers of both babies on the screen They look like fava beans to me lol. I'm not even sure which end is the head on either of them lol ... I'm guessing the left on both of them.
Anyway, I'm all smiles now because I got to see my babies, despite not getting any real details today
SweetieShellie, even if they're 2 days behind, that's really nbd. Stormaggedon was 2 days behind at our 2nd u/s, but was 2 days ahead at our 3rd u/s. +/-7 days is within normal range. And I think you're right about the location of their heads.
A supply of progesterone to the endometrium continues to be important during pregnancy. Following a successful implantation, progesterone helps maintain a supportive environment for the developing fetus. After 8 to 10 weeks of pregnancy, the placenta takes over progesterone production from the ovaries and substantially increases progesterone production"
My RE is having me take it until the end of the 11th week, I guess to be on the safe side?
Post by bluefairy5 on Mar 12, 2015 16:51:15 GMT -5
Congrats on the heartbeat bostongirl617! And SweetieShellie, you made me want fava beans, and it is not yet fava bean season. Woe.
Re: progesterone support, my RE's practice tends to stop it around week 7-8. My (hopeful) last appointment with them is Tuesday, a bit past 7 weeks, so if they suggest stopping it then I'm going to ask them if it's all right if I continue at least until my appointment with my OB at exactly 8wks (going by IVF schedule that is, not GA). How soon do you see your OB after this? Can you ask your RE for a peace-of-mind refill to cover until then?

bostongirl617, My REs office was also at the 8 week mark with the Progesterone. If that helps....
SweetieShellie, Congrats on everything looking good, and thanks for posting your pic, I was trying to explain to my 10yo niece what the first pic of baby will look like. It was so easy to show her yours!!

jetta83306 Since you mentioned it and we were all discussing weight loss since pre-pregnancy, I decided to weigh myself since I haven't in a while. I've also lost 10 pounds

SweetieShellie, It's good to know I'm not alone, but losing too much does concern me. All this nausea and gagging and food aversions are making it hard to eat well/enough.
