My son is 4 months old, but he does not respond to lullabies created for babies. He was crying his eyes out until I put on the new D'Angelo album (Black Messiah) he got quiet in a heartbeat. One of the songs accidentally got cut off and he started whining again. I put it back on and he fell fast asleep! Lots of live instrumentation on this album and I feel he really loves real Music as opposed to simple lullabies. I'm excited that at least for the time being, I'm able to listen to music that I enjoy
I found this to be true with ours, too. DS1 was a fan of Rascal Flats. DS2 is a more eclectic fellow, but 1D seems to be his favorite. So now my wife can say the 1D albums are DS2's while she tells people the calendar is DS1's. In all fairness...he did help me pick it out for her. Lol! Of all the Christmas gifts I gave her, the calendar was the only thing she seemed to gush over and yet she still takes it off the fridge when company comes over.
I've found anything that I know most of the words to and can sing along will do the trick. I should mention DS2 is also a big Brother Ali fan.
The last two nights were rough. Around 4 last night/this morning, Zac Brown Band, Brad Paisley, and some pretty desperate pleading with the little guy finally did the trick. Then the big one was up at 5 playing as loud as he possibly could in the room next door. Thankfully the little guy stayed passed out.
