I haven't really posted at all since leaving the other place but I need some advice. I just had my annual review at work with my new boss. I don't really know how to take her yet and she made a comment that kind of bugged me. She said she was concerned because this is my second kid and she doesn't know if I'm a stay at home kind of mom or a working mom. I'm the only one on my team with little kids and I feel like she might treat me differently. Would this concern you or am I just overreacting?
I would document the conversation w HR since it was inappropriate for your boss to discuss this with you. When I returned to work my supervisor made several comments to me about my pumping sessions and asked me how long I would be breastfeeding and I told HR. If nothing else it felt better just to vent.
While she shouldnt have said anything Like that I understand where she is coming from- and i say this both as a boss of people with small children and as the recipient of such comments. Some people with small children are unreliable and hurt the team. I go out of my way to continue to prove myself as someone who is reliable and my most recent performance rating was the highest its ever been even with a 1 year old. Two kids are going to be even more challenging but i refuse to believe i cant excel at both home and at work. So i dont think you should go to HR yet, but just be aware of her attitude.

How did you react?! I would have probably asked "Are you trying to ask whether or not I plan to come back to work after this kid?" because just from what you said that sounds like what she was doing.
I could go either way with telling HR... If it still bugs you on Monday, go for it.

That's the thing is last year was one of my best years. I got a bonus which never happens and my review was the best I've ever had. However the review was done by my old boss before she left. I even got a promotion but again that was because of my old boss. I just don't know how to take this new boss.
Thank you everyone for the advice. My boss is out of the office until Thursday so I think I will schedule a meeting with her when she gets back. I am a little afraid that going to hr right now will back fire.
