Sitting up and becoming mobile

I used to post on TB, and I've been lurking here, so I hope you all don't mind if I join in with a question...

Is anyone's LOs starting to starting to sit up or become mobile at all? My DD2 hasn't started sitting up yet, which has surprised me because she's been more physically active since birth compared to my DD1, but DD1 started sitting up by 5.5 months. DD2 is now 6.5 months. DD2 will roll herself across a room in a matter of seconds if you let her though!

Hey, Welcome back!

My LO can sit up straight for about 4 or 5 second before toppling over. She does best when leaning forward a bit to balance herself. Recently, we have been trying to "practice sitting" the way we consciously do tummy-time.

We've been doing solids (purees) for the past several weeks now. we'd like to try to let her feed herself some tiny pieces of food, but want to wait until she can sit up more independently. Even though we feed her in a bumbo and she's very supported, I just feel like I want her to be able to sit up a little better (there is no scientific reasoning behind that).

My LO is the opposite of yours-sitting up well for the last couple weeks (he'll be 6mo on Friday), but nowhere near being mobile! He only rolls belly-to-back, and only because he hates being on his belly, not because he's trying to get anywhere. I love seeing how each baby develops differently!

Same here, she rolls like a tootsie roll across the room but isn't sitting unsupported, will sit forward like judyblume14, mentioned but topples over in 2-3 seconds.

My LO started army crawling about 3 weeks ago. It is such a pain in the ass! It was nice when I could go to the kicthen and get some water and she would be in the same place when I got back. She is really fast! She gets up on all fours and rocks as well.

As for sitting, she isn't very good at that. She can sit for a few seconds but she is very busy and would rather roll around, and crawl and touch everything.

I also love to see how all of the babies are developing at their own pace. It is so fun so see their personalities come out through movement.

Like some of other PP my LO can only sit up for a few seconds before she face plants into the floor.
So we're still working on it. Haha

She can roll like a tumble weed and army crawl everywhere though. It's so weird and funny.

@lildiamondeyes, Can I just say somewhere in my crazy head I'm a teeny bit jealous you are KU? I have no idea how I would juggle another baby right now but LO is growing up so fast I already miss those first few months (even though DD had the worse colic!) Hope your feeling ok!!

My guy is great at sitting but can't roll at all! It's a bit self perpetuating too I think because he loves sitting so much we keep forgetting about tummy time

My LO can sit up for a few seconds then flops to the side. She can shuffle her way across the floor, 360 degrees and once five feet away from where she was laying! I'm am relishing this time as I know once she's mobile it's over!

DS has been sitting up unsupported since his 5 month birthday...still will only roll from back to belly and this is hit or miss. Usually he just does this weird half arch with his back and it's only recently become purposeful and doesn't freak him out. I swear he will crawl before he ever starts rolling lol.

We have been sitting here for probably 2 weeks, he will be 6mos on the 22. This boy thought, we have some scooting and the sitting went from fully face planting in the morning one day to sitting up just fine by dinner. I'm in trouble once he decides to actually get mobile. He rolls over but has yer to realize that rolling is a reliable mode of transportation and I'm hoping it stays that way for a while because the 3yo leaves her crap everywhere.
