I have been MIA for a few days because I'm just freaking exhausted. Little man has been a handful lately until last night. He slept from 9:30-1:30 and then from 2-5. I can't complain about that. I hope he is going to continue this pattern.
I have lots to do this week. My DH's mom and grandmother are flying in from Michigan on Friday and will be here for 10 days. I have to get this house in order before they get here or I will lose my mind. Hopefully I can get it all done without completely wearing myself out.
Morning. I was planning on going to a friend's house this morning so I gave been up and at'em trying to get ready but she texted saying her little girl has a cold and doesn't want to expose DD. Which I can very much appreciate but it's also a bummer.
DH just called me to ask if I gave DD1 an almond. Nope I didn't. We had a bag that spilled so they are everywhere but DH saw one outside this morning so he assumes that's the one she picked up and he's worried that a mouse might have chewed on it first....yaaaa
Happy Monday! Our sleep situation is just getting worse. DS was up for 4 feedings last night from 1030 to 6am and needed over an hour to get back to sleep each time. I am a total zombie. And during the day DD is dropping her nap so pretty much I am awake 24/7. We are possibly going to my inlaws for lunch. DH wants to cancel so he can work, but I am dreading the possibility of cancelling because its the only foreseeable break I am getting this week.
Hello all! It's been a crazy weekend. We found a new longer term temporary home (we hope) that isn't far from where we are now and a little more conducive to kid. It's on a side road that's not heavily travelled as opposed to on the main road where it's been cut out of the hill.
G has been spitting up all the time and I need to change him out of his shirt already.
I did all the wakeups last night because DH was basically non-functional from Saturday night's cluster feedings debacle, so today is going to suck for me.
Hi! Missed you ladies. Last week was the first week we finally started really getting out of the house. I joined this gym here that is specifically for moms- there are exercise classes you can bring your baby to. (Lemmie tell you, squats are way harder with a 10 pound human weight in your arms!) There's also childcare for other classes/cardio, and you can bring a car seat into the cardio room with you if you want. We also took a baby yoga class and joined a moms group there for moms and babies of similar ages. It's been so nice getting out and working out and talking to other people!
We're so close to the addition finally being done too- the painters are here today (they primed yesterday) and next weekend they're doing the flooring while we're out of town. We should be all settled by Easter, which will be great since we'll have a full house!
I'm feeling pretty chatty today because LO slept from 8pm to 1:30 and then went back to sleep until 6:30. I'm so rested! I'm pretty positive it was a fluke, but I'm very grateful for it, even if it never happens again.
Today is my oldest DD's birthday. She's 5! She's also home from school this week (spring break). I have a doctor's appt this afternoon so I'll be taking both girls to my parents house for a bit. They're looking forward to doing some celebrating with DD1.
We usually do the kid's bday parties the weekend after their actual birthday (unless it happens to fall on a weekend) and we just do a small family party at home on the actual day. That's the plan for today as well. For dinner I make (or we take-out) whatever the birthday kid wants and we give them their family gifts. DD1 has requested a pizza party on the trampoline. So, we're doing that and will probably play outside after. DH and I got her a scooter and DD2 made her a necklace. I'm wondering if I should have DH stop on the way home and pick up a small gift from DS. We usually try to encourage handmade gifts between the siblings but that's obviously not going to happen. Any ideas?

miniwheat, really hope you get to sleep sometime soon. Being sleep deprived for that long is awful!
I've been eating up all the cuddle time I can get with LO. Him sleeping on my chest all the time and wearing him calms ME down as well as him these days.
I'm on such a emotional roller coaster it's crazy. Lately I've been realizing going back to work is going to be here before I know it, and I haven't even visited a daycare yet. The idea of leaving LO is breaking my heart too.
toadandbuggie Take comfort in your LO! I know it's nothing compared to staying home if that's what you want to do, but hopefully you'll find a daycare you like

Aw! Happy bday to her.
I would have a present from the baby but I just something little especially since her sister has something for her. (No clue what though)
mamabisme, Happy Birthday to your DD! toadandbuggie, baby wearing is so calming! izzy0927, I am jealous of this gym! There isn't much for mom/baby groups where I am.
Long night with a congested upset baby and two very tired parents. Up with LO now giving my husband more rest (daytime is always better for me) in hopes of a return of the favor later
Tried the saline drops and bulb syringe last night because he couldn't breathe through feeding but he screamed so much it hurt me to see him like that. Going to buy buy baby today and getting the nose frieda @holachica
I gave DD her first tub bath last night and she did great. No fussing at all. I'm thinking she might actually be too big for the newborn sling so I might try the next bath without it. Afterwards I put some lotion on her (Aveeno baby vanilla and lavender) and she smelled so good.
She actually fell asleep before midnight last night so DH and I were able to sleep in the same room for the first time in almost a week. He slept great, unfortunately mine could have been better. For whatever reason, all DD's little (and not so little) noises just stress me out so much more when we're in the master bedroom with DH. I know she didn't bother him though, because he had to ask me if she got up in the middle of the night (she did, at 4am). It was just harder for me to settle into sleep last night.

Anyone use a My Brestfriend pillow? Milk leaking from the nipple shield soaked the cover. I took off the cover to throw it the wash and the foam insert shredded and made a mess on my floor. I'm doubting I'll be able to put the dang thing back together.

I think we've hit the dreaded 6wk growth spurt. DS has either been eating or fighting sleep since 5 this morning. He finally just passed out on my chest and now I'm afraid to move.
LO went back to sleep after all his feedings last night and gave me one 4.5 hr stretch. I feel like a new person! Apparently switching back to similac was the key. Sorry Meijer brand, guess my kid has expensive taste.
On a related note, I have a coupon for $5 off enfamil. Does anyone want to trade for similac?
I hope everyone who didn't get much sleep last night is able to catch a nap today! It is supposed to be mid 60's here today which is amazing! Can't wait to get out! Did anyone else watch or record The Royals last night? I am watching it now, not sure how I feel about it yet...

LO is finally sleeping, but only in his carseat. The overnight trip and driving around with grandparents seems to have set a bad precedent. It's great that I can grab a cup of coffee out of the house without any screaming, but I want him to sleep in his crib so I can sleep. I'm so dead.
I'm getting snippy with DH about LO's fussing in the evening and early morning. Kid has been ridiculously calm until this weekend so it's a new thing for us to learn to handle.

toadandbuggie big hugs-- I have never cried so hard in my life as the morning I went back to work. I also bought a carrier so that I could hold her close and still get stuff done. It's extremely difficult but it does get a bit easier-- I'm thinking of you.

@lotofdots Yayyy longer sleep finally, Congrats! I also hope it continues for you!
miniwheat that sounds a lot like what we went through two weeks ago. In our case it turned out LO want drinking as much as we thought. I ended up pumping for the evening feeds (and now exclusively) to get him to eat enough so we could sleep. Within two days he went down to 2 feeds (9-2:30-6:30). I don't remember if you're breastfeeding pumping formula-ing etc. But thought I'd pass that on in case it might help in your case? Good luck, i remember it was madenning!!!!!
@petdigger congrats on finding another home!
Tomorrow my in laws are leaving. As much as they annoyed me i will miss the extra hands!!! I feel very rested in comparison to last week!
We found a new house also (after hearing at 38weeks that we had to leave this one because it has been sold). Minus point is that we have to arranging carpeting, curtains and wall painting ourselves, which has been expensive and time consuming.... But I'm happy we will have a roof over our heads!!!
All this talk about work has been making me think and debate my options... I'm just thinking out loud here so it's gonna be really long...
I teach at a private high school, no tenure. I would like to continue to work there next year and in the future, but on a part time schedule. I was told that I would get offered whatever is available next year, whether it is part time or full time and get first right of acceptance or refusal. This puts me in a tough spot, as I might have to job search if a part time position isn't available. Now today, the school just announced the Dean's office secretary is retiring and the part time job is available for next year. I'm in sort of a dilemma. H and I will discuss it more this afternoon but my options are...
Work at my current school part time. Keep in mind though the job is not guaranteed every year. This is probably my number one preference but if a position isn't available do I...
1. work at my current school in the Dean's office part time. Much less stress, but the least pay of my options. I have to tell the principal if I'm interested by the end of the week. 2. look for a part time job at another school. Probably better pay.
Add to the fact that my school is only 5 minutes away from our house so looking for another job would suck. I guess I'm leaning to saying I'd be up for the secretary position, but do I really want to give up teaching? Then again, when we have kid 2 in the next few years I want to SAH for awhile. So any way I look at this it is not going to be permanent.
Gosh that is a lot to think through. Would taking the part time secretary position leave you available to maybe sub within the school if you wanted to? That way you wouldn't have to entirely give up teaching. It's not the same thing as to us own room but it would be a better situation that an unknown sub. Kwim?
I am so flipping hungry all the time much more so than when I was pregnant. I just finished eating lunch and I am hungry. Rawr. And it seems that the foods I would like to eat, and are generally healthier are more difficult to eat with an infant. Gah.
So I just got out of the shower and DD was hungry so I am nursing her on the couch in a bra and underwear. Mr Fedex just showed up and of course the sidelights are open again. He never used to knock when he delivered something lol. Him and the postman better get me something nice for Mother's Day lol I ran away before he came up, but still haha whoops!!

mamabisme, not sure how I feel about Liz Hurley being the queen. They kind of pulled a Gossip Girl and sometimes it is hard to hear the diolague over the music...

aggiebug no not at all! LO has been carted around to the park in the jogger since 2 weeks old. I started jogging when he was about 5 weeks. Puts him to sleep faster.

Thanks for the validation. The directions recommend 6-8months but I will be on a well paved trail and I am sure quite slow it may as well be considered walking ha.
