Happy Monday (or not), PAIF!  I want to go on vacation so bad.  I do not want to work.  I do not want to be in chilly weather.  Someone rescue me.

So, I bring you a vacation and 'moons themed GTKY...

1. Did you go on a honeymoon? (Details please.)
No. We got married without really planning it so he could add me to his insurance and all. We'd been engaged for over a year by then. We'll probably do an anniversary trip at some point.

2. Favorite vacation ever, to date?
I think our trip to Gatlinburg is my favorite. He didn't check his email for 5 days! He's a bit of a workaholic, and that trip he really took advantage of the time off to relax, and we had some really good quality time together.

3. Are you going to, or did you, take a babymoon?
Maybe a long weekend thing, but like bostongirl617, I'm trying to save up my time off for maternity leave.

4. Ideal babymoon getaway, if money and time were no object?
A European river cruise would be awesome! Or, if winter won't go away for the year soon, somewhere hot and tropical.

I love this post, so I can daydream about vacations all day.

1. Did you go on a honeymoon? (Details please.) Yup. We went to Costa Rica. It was beautiful, and warm, and sunny. We napped, and went snorkeling, zip lining, horseback riding, swam, drank, ate lots of food, and did a volcano spa thing. It really was probably the most relaxing and exciting vacation I've ever been on.

2. Favorite vacation ever, to date? I probably have to say my honeymoon. Mostly because we saw so many animals, and had a total blast, but were able to relax so much.

3. Are you going to, or did you, take a babymoon? Probably not. I'd like to save as much money as possible, and my time off. If anything we may do our usual weekend trip to Rockport.

4. Ideal babymoon getaway, if money and time were no object? Italy. Hands down.

1. Did you go on a honeymoon? We were married in Puerto Rico, so for a honeymoon, we just went to a more secluded hotel off the east coast. It was fun but looking back, we were basically drunk for 4 days straight. I want to go back to the hotel to do a more relaxing trip.

2. Favorite vacation ever, to date? Probably the first time I took DH to Puerto Rico. I also had a lot of fun going to San Francisco and Napa a little over a year ago (before we did our first IVF try).

3. Are you going to, or did you, take a babymoon? Not really. Although we did rent a cabin in the Texas hill country for Christmas, which was perfect. Maybe that would be considered a babymoon.

4. Ideal babymoon getaway, if money and time were no object? Between being sick 1st and 2nd tri, and now being exhausted...I don't think I could handle any sort of a getaway. I would like to do a fancy staycation - maybe we'll try to squeeze it in.

No, we didn't have the money when we got married. I was subbing because the school district I worked for was cutting people left and right. SO, I subbed the year we got married. It just didn't seem smart to go on a vacation when my paychecks were sporadic.

Honestly, DH and I haven't gone on a big vacation. We've done small weekend trips up to Sedona and Flagstaff, AZ but nothing major. DH works in baseball, so his busy season goes through the summer (my off time), and his off time is November to January. He gets a few days off in a row here and there, so we try to do something together. I can't wait for the day that we can go on a REAL vacation somewhere!

3. Are you going to, or did you, take a babymoon?
I think we might go to a fancy schmancy resort in Scottsdale this summer before the baby is born. He gets a few days off in June, and the prices drop at the resorts in the summer because do you REALLY want to go to Phoenix in the summer?

4. Ideal babymoon getaway, if money and time were no object?
If money were no object, we'd go to St. Lucia immediately. It's been a place we've talked about for years, ever since we first started dating. Hopefully we will be able to carve the time out to go there together in the coming years.

Yes, originally we had booked a week in the Dominican, but as the time got closer, we were getting horror stories about the locals and the weather was not looking good. We were supposed to fly out Friday. Monday morning, DH canceled that (yay for insurance) and booked us last minute on a cruise to Bermuda. We drove to Boston Thursday night and boarded the ship Friday morning!! I fell in LOVE with Bermuda!! We did end up going to the Dominican last year with friends. It was nice, I'd go back.

2. Favorite vacation ever, to date? As much as I LOVE Bermuda, my fav vacation was DH and mines first road trip. We drove to Jacksonville FL to visit my Uncle. The fav part came when we took off for 2 days to Daytona Beach. We drank Maitais at a bar in the rain, and even though it was October, we ran out in the ocean early in the morning anyways!! He said that morning playing in the water was when he knew he wanted to marry me

3. Are you going to, or did you, take a babymoon? A week before we knew we were expecting, we had booked another trip to Bermuda. Would have made it our 3rd! The ship that sails out of NYC is the best!! Well, I asked DH to move it to June. He wants to save up his time off, so instead, we got the deposit back and decided we would take a long weekend trip this summer. Thinking either Cape Cod, or in the opposite direction, Niagara Falls.

4. Ideal babymoon getaway, if money and time were no object? Time and money aside, I'd go back to Bermuda!! we've btdt, so it would be super relaxing this time! And the food on the cruise ship would be pregnant lady heaven!!

Yup! 10 days in Belize, beachside. Half of it we spend on a tiny island off the coast with about 10 guest houses. It was amazing!

2. Favorite vacation ever, to date?
Probably Belize, but the 3 weeks we spent in France to celebrate me defending my thesis is a very, very close second. We spent a week on the northern coast, a week on the southern coast, and a week in Paris.

3. Are you going to, or did you, take a babymoon?
Our vacation this year was our trying-to-have-a-baby-moon in January to Mexico, so maybe a short trip this summer.

4. Ideal babymoon getaway, if money and time were no object?
Australia and New Zealand. Or Thailand. Or Italy and Ireland, since those are my family's backgrounds and I've never been to either country yet.

1. Honeymooned for 12 glorious days in Kauai, Hawaii. It was amazing!

2. Yep-^^my favorite vacation by far! We plan to retire there someday:)

3. No baby moon because a) I feel like crap most of the time and b) we spent all our money making baby.

4. I would like to take a Mediterranean river cruise and visit Greece, Italy, and any other country along the way.

bostongirl617 I'd love to talk MH into a Maine weekend! It might be a tough sell, though; he's more of a South Beach type.

sewfie2 MH is a total workaholic too. It drives me nuts on vacations.

@dyork We looked at Costa Rica for our honeymoon - I'd love to go someday. Where did you stay?

@ketchup I feel you on wanting to be able to enjoy the culture of the dream babymoon location. Normally I'm all, "Sign me up for Paris, please!" but I don't think I'd want to go when I can't drink a lot of wine.

gsancho SF/wine country trips are so much fun!

llm100811 Ooh, Scottsdale sounds nice. I want to go to the Canyon Ranch out there.

ginnyjones82 I actually really love BTDT vacations. It's like you get to do the deep cut/b-side version.

DrHooch Mexico in January sounds much preferable to WI in January (or wait, are you in MN? I know you're up there somewhere, right?)

IFinTN My cousin just honeymooned in Kauai and it looked like pretty much the most gorgeous place on earth. I can see why you'd want to retire there for sure.

firstbbq If I were given the choice of one and only one Hawaiian island, I'd totally go for the Big Island! And have an amazing time in Maui! Sometimes I'm really jealous of you Californians. Hawaii is so much more accessible to you.


1. We did go on a honeymoon, to Venice and Florence. But then we "had to" spend 2 night in Paris due to weather flying out of Florence, I mean, what crap luck, right?

2. Favorite vacation ever, to date? I'm gonna buck the trend and not talk about one with MH. Sorry, hubs. My favorite vacation ever, to date, was with my mom. I took her to Paris for her 60th (well, 61st because she was undergoing cancer treatments for her 60th). We call it our "Ile de France garden tour," as we went up to Giverny, out to Versailles, and hit all the best tucked away Parisian parks and gardens. It was the best.

3. Are you going to, or did you, take a babymoon? MH is kind of a "champagne" guy whereas I'm going to want to be more "PBR" while we're (hopefully) buying nursery stuff and whatnot. So he'll probably want to do something over the top in the Caribbean, whereas I will probably try to talk him into a reasonable weekend away up to Maine or the Berkshires or something.

4. Ideal babymoon getaway, if money and time were no object? Hawaii all the way. Then again, I kind of can't imagine flying that much while KU (just from a comfort standpoint). So let's compromise and say the Bahamas.

bluefairy5, - We stayed at the Westin Golf Resort and Spa at Play Conchal. It's all inclusive. The only reason I'd love to go back is because we didn't get to visit the cloud forest. And it's probably not as exciting as I think it will be, I'd love to venture back down there and see that. My SIL did both on her honeymoon, and said it was way colder at the cloud forest, which surprised me. But they had a total blast at both places.

1. Did you go on a honeymoon? (Details please.) We spent a week in Jamaica visiting Montego Bay and Ochos Rios; it was heavenly.

2. Favorite vacation ever, to date? It's a toss up between our honeymoon or when we went to Cancun for a week...we love warm weather and beaches!

3. Are you going to, or did you, take a babymoon? No. I've been on bed rest, and even if I weren't, we don't have the excess money after all the IF treatments.

4. Ideal babymoon getaway, if money and time were no object? Our ideal vacation is to go to Italy for a couple weeks, but for a babymoon we'd probably go somewhere in the Caribbean. Sunshine, beaches, and warm weather just seem more romantic, especially after this harsh winter.

1. Did you go on a honeymoon? We went to Spain. Barcelona, Seville, Grenada, and Madrid. It was absolutely incredible.

2. Favorite vacation ever, to date? I have really fond memories of Coachella in 2010 with my sister and cousin.

4. Ideal babymoon getaway, if money and time were no object? More time in Europe, probably. Maybe Japan.

We went to the Big Island for 10 days or so. It was wonderful, but we liked Kauai better.

2. Favorite vacation ever, to date?
Three week road trip to the Arctic Circle via the Dempster Highway. Google pics. It's amazing up there!

3. Are you going to, or did you, take a babymoon?
We did a mini-trip to the mountains of NC. It was good, but I wish we would have had the $$ for a beach trip. We bought chromosomal testing of our embryos instead.

4. Ideal babymoon getaway, if money and time were no object?
Anywhere not touristy with a beach and good mocktails!

1. Did you go on a honeymoon? (Details please.) We went to Washington state - a few days at a cabin by the ocean, then Olympic Natl Park and Seattle. DH planned the whole thing as a surprise.

2. Favorite vacation ever, to date? All-inclusive in Mexico - I love lounging by the pool, resort activities (yoga, ping pong, water aerobics), nice dinners, and nightly entertainment

3. Are you going to, or did you, take a babymoon? Yep, at 17w, we went to SW Florida for a long weekend on the Gulf. It was perfect!

4. Ideal babymoon getaway, if money and time were no object? Same as above, but it would last much longer!

1. Did you go on a honeymoon? (Details please.) We spent one glorious week in Antigua. It was beautiful. The weather was off and on rainy, but a rainy day in the Caribbean beats any day in NJ. Also, the rain would last 10 minutes, then it would be sunny again.

2. Favorite vacation ever, to date? Besides the honeymoon, we drove from NJ to FL(all the way down to Miami) and back in 4 days. It was crazy and exhausting, but so much fun. We caught a phillies game in Miami (wth, covered, air conditioned ball park? I did not pack for that ), and then spent one gloriously beautiful day on Miami Beach.

3. Are you going to, or did you, take a babymoon? We're thinking of going away for 2 nights to atlantic city next month, just to get away.

4. Ideal babymoon getaway, if money and time were no object? Somewhere all inclusive in the Caribbean. I day dream about this pretty much all winter long.

1. We went to St. Lucia for our honeymoon and it was so pretty and relaxing.

2. Italy definitely. Florence was my favorite city we visited there.

3. No but I did a fun girls trip to Phoenix recently that was planned before we got pregnant.

4. If travel time didn't count (along with money) then Australia or Fiji.

1. Did you go on a honeymoon? (Details please.) Yes we did. We went to punta cana, DR for a week at an all-inclusive called Paradisus. We upgraded to the "royal service" and had a private pool for adults only and a butler. It was pretty awesome.

2. Favorite vacation ever, to date? I've got to say it was went I went white water rafting in the Grand Canyon. I've loved it so much, I've been 3 times. Twice with my dad and once with DH for our 1 year anniversary.

3. Are you going to, or did you, take a babymoon? DH and I might be moving to Charleston later this year, so I'd really like to take a long weekend and do a "babymoon" there and check out the place.

4. Ideal babymoon getaway, if money and time were no object? Tahiti in one of those grass huts over the water! Babymoon or not, that place look amazing!

1. Did you go on a honeymoon? (Details please.) We went on a non-traditional honeymoon. We went to Orlando for a week, but went with some other family members. It was not exactly a romantic trip, but we were young and broke. So, splitting expenses was helpful.

2. Favorite vacation ever, to date?
My favorite vacation was probably one of our caribbean cruises. We went jet skiing in Mexico which was probably my favorite part of the trip.
3. Are you going to, or did you, take a babymoon?
I just got back from Clearwater, Florida. It was a working trip though. I really wanted to go on vacation, but didn't want to use my vacation time or spend a lot of money. My job gives us education time and money that expires if not used. So, I took advantage of this and went to a conference. So, I was busy during the day, but still got to be in a different environment with much better weather.

4. Ideal babymoon getaway, if money and time were no object?
I would love to go Italy for a week or two. It has been on my bucket list, but I'm so cheap I don't want to pay for the flight. The length of the flight might not be fun while pregnant either?
