Trusty Google has informed me that this is what I am most likely suffering from. Oh my god, it is pretty painful. I will be discussing it with my midwife on Wednesday. Until then, how have you dealt with your lower back pain? I am taking Tylenol occasionally and looking into prenatal yoga on youtube.

WE have a massage school here that does massages with a student for $25. I've been going and doing that. My back has just started bothering me. I'm sorry, it's just hell. I'm trying to avoid tylenol until later in the pregnancy because I know I'm going to need it. I'd get DH to rub my back some.
Where does it hurt exactly? I'm feeling pain way down near my sacrum... could be pelvis. It feels pretty medial.
Very low on my back/upper buttocks area. Pretty uncomfortable around my pelvis as well. It had been a little surprising. I didn't assume I would be this uncomfortable before I was even showing.
Ugh sorry about the spotting runningmommy519. I've been having spotting too, boo. I just can't wait for 1st tri to be over. Tailbone/butt crack... that's exactly where mine is too jordanelizabeth. I have underlying issues in my lumbar spine, so I never know if I've re- injured something or if it's pregnancy related. Also, if I actually try to tag someone in a post, it says I'm not allowed to post on this board.
Some of this sounds like the sciatic nerve. When I get it, it starts just below my hip or top of butt and goes down into my leg. I think you can Google exercises to work with this but as my sis the ob says, it's just part of being pregnant. I had it with my first pregnancy and have been having it off an on with this one.
I used to see a chiropractor all the time, and it managed my pain. Then one time it messed up my back so much. 2 surgeries and 2 years later I'm finally feeling normal again. I know it can help, I'm just scared.

Holy smokes, that sounds AWFUL. I have never had a bad experience with a chiropractor, but that is a scary story.

Yeah I didn't have spotting with DS either. Being pregnant increases my ready high libido. So DH and I just need to take a few days off lol.

I spotted from weeks 5-8.... No idea where it can from but everything looks good on an ultrasound week 7 so doc said not to worry... I still worried but luckily it finally stopped!
I have thought about a chiropractor, but my insurance doesn't cover one. I'm avoiding as many out of pocket expenses as possible. Well, I'm sorry y'all are dealing with terrible back pain as well! It's extremely un-fun.

** Full disclosure: Profession plug** You could try a physical therapist. Insurance companies cover physical therapy and depending on your state you may not need to get a prescription from your doctor first. We are trained on how the human body moves and develops from conception through the end of life. There's even a women's health specialty that deals with pregnant women as part of their practice; however, any good therapist in an orthopedic setting can help. Just a thought...

Yeah it was a bit traumatic. But up until that time chiropractors did wonders for me. I still recommend it to other people. I just don't know what happened.
So I had something like this I think. When I looked it up it sounded 100% like pelvic girdle pain. But basically it was immense pain in my hip and buttocks, that radiated up my back and down my leg. I basically could hardly walk bc it hurt so badly. I sat in our recliner with a heating pad on it one night. The next day it improved. I rested that whole day in the recliner, made Mh get everything for me etc. and it was gone. I'm hoping it doesn't come back. But ya, that's what helped me.
So for about a week I've had moderate, livable pain. Monday it became severe and today I woke up and it was completely gone. Ah pregnancy. Just letting you know that there is hope.
