Just peed my pants shredding with JM. I forgot how pleasant that is.
Good job! Is this day one? I did not work out today What is your goal? Everyday, or few times a week?
I started it about 2 months ago and did it sporadically, then haven't done it for at least a month. So, I guess you would say day 1. I'm going to do it a few times a week on top of my plan to train for my race. It's nice that I can do it inside when it's too hot to get out, and it's so short I can do it during even the shortest nap. I have done level 1 about 6-7 times now, and after today, I feel ready to do level 2. I could tell it just wasn't hard enough.

I'll try to do it a few times a week. If I work out, then I'll skip 30DS. When I tried level 1, it seemed easy do maybe I'm in better shape than I realized. Maybe not
kellrr Does compatibility with the car seat matter or am I missing something? I would think that these little guys are outgrowing the bucket car seats. I've been using the regular seat on my jogging stroller (Is that a no no?).
jellykat2 I use my jogging stroller for hiking on rough terrain so I don't have much advice. If you are jogging on straight paths, a locking mechanism for the front wheel is useful. Some strollers have a hand break which can be a nice safety feature if you have to stop suddenly especially going down a hill. The features that I like on mine are the coverage from the generous canopy and the seat that goes flat for naps. The large wheels and suspension also make it easy to drag the stroller up and down lots of steep stairs without taking the kid out.
What jogging stroller do you have?
I ended up with a bob revolution pro. It seemed to be the top recommended stroller and I didn't have time to research every option so I just bit the bullet! It seemed to meet my needs for the bumpier trails that I want to hike on. There seems to be a lot of great options out there.
Fit friends! I finally got a jogging stroller! I ran with it this morning with my bestie, and it was tough but also nice to be able to run with the extra weight! My race is coming up soon and I need to be hitting the road way more. It's supposed to be really cool all week so I'll definitely be going for runs often. I'm going to aim for trying to run 4 times a week plus swim at least 2x. Not sure I'll be able to keep up with 30 DS, but I'm going to try! I plan to do it on days when it's too hot to get out to run.
AW warning: finished my 12 miler in 2 hours 16 minutes! I didn't walk once, and I felt great the whole time! Here's a pic of my sister, sister in-law, and I afterwards being silly. I'm the one flexing. First time posting a pic from my phone, so I hope this works.

Way to go! I have 0 interest in running more than a 5k ever. My friend and I were talking yesterday about doing a tough mudder, but that is probably the most I would do.
How's it going, buddies? I ran yesterday and today with the jogging stroller and SOB is that hard! I'm half way to my running goal this week, though. I'm trying for 4 runs and 2 swims. My race is 2.5 weeks away and I don't want to drown. victoria your race is this week, right? MrsTinMKE and bsquaredmsquared how is 30 day shred going? I realized it was way too much until I get through my race, but then I'm with you!
kellrr - my race is on Saturday! I've been running with M most mornings but I never go farther than 2 miles on my workouts so my race will REALLY be pushing it! Lol
I'm finally back to my pre pregnancy weight, it took 9 months but I'm here! I want to lose another 10-15lbs though because I still have some problem areas that I want to work on.
Kudos to you ladies that do all the running and racing. I couldn't do it, I'm more of a strength training & elliptical kind of girl.
I did it! I bought a jogging stroller! I've been running using an app to slowly help me get back into it and I'm feeling really good so far. I already feel like I'm starting to tone some and it's only been a week and a half.

Yay! I'm in the same boat-I can't even get up to 2 miles! A 5K might kill me.

I just realized that I worked out 5 times last week, the first week I've done that since October 2013. Yay me! Shout out to my fit buddy bsquaredmsquared for being an amazing cheer leader! She sends me inspiration everyday. My race is in one week and I'm a little nervous, and also worried I'll start slacking off after that. How's everyone else doing?

Go girl go!!
I finally did 30ds yesterday Hoping to get day two in today as well
Well running had been going well, but suddenly my knees are fucked up. Ugh. They both hurt but I think I may have seriously messed up my right one.
Oh no! I actually switched insoles in my shoes (got the $10 Dr. Scholls ones for athletics) and my knee pain and shin splints are gone. I can tell I still need totally new shoes because I have some other pain, but it's not a priority in the budget right now. In the meantime, take it easy.

I might have to get some inserts. I just got new shoes before I started, and at least don't have the shin splints I usually do. But this knee pain is worse. I'm going to take it easy the rest of the week. I'm really hoping I didn't do anything serious.
How's everyone doing this week? I ran this morning, and with my race on Wednesday, I'm supposed to taper and just run a little tomorrow. Then I'm thinking after my race I'm going to mix running and 30DS. I like the strength building aspect of 30DS. I'm also participating in solidarity on the notch bet and cutting some foods: bacon, French fries, anything else I obviously shouldn't eat. I ate bacon every day last week, guise. Not cool. I'm also cutting back on alcohol. For now. Maybe starting next week after I celebrate with my brother this weekend.
So far I am off to a good start! Did 30DS today. I also want to pick back up on the C25K training. I fell off the wagon and want to get back on. I am going to try and get a run in tonight as well.
I am of course doing the NotchBet, so I need to lose 7lbs there, but I really really want to lose like 30 so I need to step my game up. (I know this will take longer than 4 weeks). I am believing I can do it for the first time in a long time. My weight loss has been slow, but not the less, I have been losing weight over the last 9 months. I would like to be at my goal by DD's 1st bday. Its doable!
I am however going to eat bacon tonight, because its low carb right? I want bacon and eggs!!
kellrr, I too, am going to cut back on my booze. But not tonight, its the Bachelorette finale, and well wine is mandatory. Also we have a big group date like thing on Saturday and doing a booze cruise so again.. drinking is required!!
Of course all I am craving today is cake and orange soda... I don't even drink soda
My exercise is back on track now that I am home. Now that I am a SAHM and the gym has daycare, I have no excuse not to work out. I have been trying to incorporate it into our weekday routine to make sure it happens. I also have a weekly trainer so hopefully that will provide the extra push I need and keep me accountable. My current plan is 3 days of strength training and 2 days of cardio per the trainers recommendation.
I need to lose about 7 pounds for the notch bet and have to take a PT test in September where I need to have either lost about 3 inches in my waist and hips or 14 pounds.
My biggest issue is food and alcohol. My husband is not the healthiest eater even though you would never know by looking at him. I also enjoy wine and beer and margaritas. Unfortunately none of that is super helpful.
Add me to the need to loose 7 lbs for this notch bet group. But also, want to loose a minimum of 20, ideally 30 lbs. Running was going well, then my knees started to really ache. It worked out since dd was sick last week. Hopefully I can resume this week. She doesn't nap long enough during the day to do any videos so exercise has pretty much got to be outside.
Im going to also try to give up during the week drinking. But I don't want to.
I thought I'd revive the thread to share this (very long) article for some fit-speration: www.runnersworld.com/runners-stories/ultra?cid=socPVNShareRW_20150813_50019316&adbid=10153468419496469&adbpl=fb&adbpr=87494991468 "With a BMI of approximately 39.2, more than nine points above the National Institutes of Health-established line defining obesity, Valerio, a marathoner, ultramarathoner, and trail runner, has emerged as a role model for this group; a living argument that it's possible to be both fit and fat. “I'm pretty much in love with my body,” she writes in her blog. “Sometimes I get disappointed or angry with it, but like any long-term, committed relationship, it usually comes right back to love and respect.”' I can relate: despite running 4-5 times a week, I haven't lost much weight. Even when I trained for a triathlon burning 3000+ calories a week and cut my calorie intake, I only lost 10 lbs. over 16 weeks. What stuck out to me most, though, was my conversation with my OB/Gyn. She said "could you lose 20 more pounds, sure, but if you can do a triathlon, you're healthy enough to have a baby." I know my emphasis on fitness, rather than weight loss, helped me during pregnancy and in rebounding PP. Hope everyone gets off their booty this weekend to get fit!
