WTF. Throw it in the garbage. If they want to go after them in small claims court, go for it. What a freaking waste of time and energy!!!!!!!!!!! If this happened to my kid, they sure as heck wouldn't be playing with that 'friend' again in the future.

Eew- I have a Facebook friend who posted this on her wall complaining about people who rsvp'd to a shower and didn't show up. I get that she's kidding about following suit (I hope) but I still side eye her for posting that on Facebook.

What bothers me about this whole situation is the parents mention understanding that their child cancelling at the last minute costs the other family money and they would have been willing to work something out if it had been approached differently....

Ummm, parent who asked a teacher to put that into someone's backpack?? Seriously!!! Give the other parents a freaking call!!! Talk to other human beings...

I would respond with an official looking letter of dispute requesting they submit a copy of the agreement signed and dated stating I had agreed to the "no show" fee.

What a joke. That person should not be breeding.
