Backstory - About 2 years ago, my dear friend's almost 3 year old son, Luke, was diagnosed with Leukemia. A rare and fast moving form of AML. This required aggressive treatment, so they lived at the Children's Hospital for almost 7 months. At one point during that time, he developed a particularly nasty infection and was placed on isolation. That was very hard, because at 3 years old he didn't understand why he couldn't see his brother, grandparents, etc, and he got scared for the first time.
Once isolation was lifted, my DH and I brought him a special Spider-Man toy, almost as big as he was, to help watch over him and keep him company while he had to live in the hospital. He loved it.
Well, fast forward to present day, and he is totally healthy, has been Cancer free for 15 months and is just flourishing.
I got home from dinner on Friday night, and there was a package on my doorstep. I was not expecting anything, so I was confused but intrigued. Inside of the package was a Spider-Man action figure and a card from Luke. He loves his spiddy so much, that he wanted to share with baby. I called my friend, and she said ever since Luke found out we were going to have a baby he has been so excited and wanted to buy her a present. He was adamant that she get a "Spiddy-Man" like his.
I mean, come on now with the levels of cute and adorable here. I can't handle it. I cried.
