I'm currently obsessed with redecorating our house. We moved a few months ago and none if our furniture seems to 'go' in this house. It's also our first time having a playroom so I'm getting into organizing and decorating that. We are also getting the foster nursery ready and I'm having fun with that. Gender neutral nurseries are hard, but I've finally figured out what I want so now I can start on that!

trixi282, xanthepants, You both need to check it out! It is completely engrossing. I would listen on my phone at work while doing one of my more mindless tasks and the time would FLY by.

justbeth, So how is the foster process going? Tell me all about it! I've been curious myself - my H would never go for it but I have definitely thought about it so let me live vicariously.
trixi282, I'm the same way with house plans. I look and look and look. There is no way we will ever be able to afford to build but I still like to dream. It's so weird sometimes how some builders try to cram so much stuff into a place that makes no sense at all with the way a house should actually flow just to check it off the box that the house has it. I LOVE looking at them though.
I also heard about Serial as well - I think it was PaddyB that was talking about it a while back. I need to find the time!
yep. I was obsessed with Serial, and it was amazing.
I too love looking at houses and floorplans. If we ever built I would hope we had enough money to hire an architect to build us a house that works for us, and whatever plot of land we had...but that is obviously not happening any time soon.

+1 to Serial and floorplans here too!
I started reading This American Life transcripts when I was up MOTN feeding T as a NB. It was the only thing that could keep me awake, then that led to Serial. I've only ever read them, not listened. So intriguing.
Whenever we get ads for new developments or whatnot, I will sit down and study those floorplans like I am going to be tested on them. Oh, and I used to play The Sims pretty hardcore and I would find floorplans I liked and then recreate the houses in my Sims world. It's a crazy, crazy life I lead.

I listened to the first episode yesterday during my workout and it was so good. I'm trying to figure out times when I can listen to the rest of them!
I'm comiing off my Serial obsession - but it was strong...like getting lost on Reddit wormholes strong. For those who don't know, Serial is a podcast that was a spin-off of This American Life about an investigation into a real life murder mystery from 1999. The convicted murderer was a senior in HS at the time and I think that's one reason I got so involved - because we are the same age. Anyway, I highly reccomend it, but beware of going on-line for more info...you can lose hours/days/weeks of productivity LOL
Decorating my house. It was fully renovated and freshly painted (all yellow - yuck) so it was basically a blank slate. We have spent waaaaaay more than I care to admit on paint, curtains, rugs, furniture, and we aren't done....Yikes! But luckily our last home was a fixer upper that we made a lot of money on when we sold, so we have the budget to make this home exactly what we want. It's still hard for me to splurg so much - totally out of my character.
My husband was just telling me about Serial! He's obsessed too. I think I need to start listening.
And I'm totally with you on the decorating thing too. I wish they had a frequent flier program at Home Goods.
