LO hates the car seat...... He can be ok in it occasionally but usually ends up screaming half way to destination. Is anyone else having this issue or have had this? Will he outgrow it? It's hard to go anywhere alone because I can't focus on driving when he is screaming in the back seat!!! Ugh. Anything I can do to make this more enjoyable for him?
ahayden1230,My lo does this too! I was going to drive 30 minutes to pick up a Tula carrier from a lady off a facebook forum, but then I realized that my dh was hiking the Grand Canyon and I cannot drive alone with lo. I paid an extra 10 dollars to have her ship it to me instead. ridiculous if you ask me, but it's better than getting an in accident or turning the ride into an hour.

Yup, with ya. I thought we were the odd one's out because I usually hear about how kids love going for a drive. Ours is very hit or miss but it does seem he likes the car better than the SUV. Either way, when he's crying it just sucks because there is just nothing I can do to make him stop.

Idk how to fix it but I feel your pain. Any longer than ten minutes and he freaks out. If I feed him and change him right before we go he might be okay or he might not. Very hit or miss, especially if he is sleepy. He usually cries because he can't always figure out how to soothe himself to sleep in the car seat... Maybe that part gets better as they get older?
LO is apparently a speed demon...she's perfectly happy in the car if we're going over 40 km/h, but if we hit red lights it's the end of the world! Do you have toys that attach to the handle so your LO has something to look at?

Neither boy has liked the car seat. With DS1, moving to the convertible seat helped. DS2 is a little easier...second kid crying is a little less soul crushing.

Mine screams and cries on about 30% of car rides. It is hit or miss for us too. Once his fusses get to a full cry, it's over- complete inconsolable mess. SOMETIMES listening to any Rockabye Baby! song will make him settle down, but not always.

We have to go on a 3.5 hour trip in a few weeks and I'm concerned hiw we all will survive. I hope he learns to love it more by then. I do have toys for him to look at but once he his that wall with it nothing helps other then taking him out of seat.

My son always hated the infant seat and we switched him into the convertible seat at 4 months. That helped a ton. He was much much happier. My daughter started off hating the infant seat and I thought I was doomed for a repeat, but since I've taken out the head rest she has been much happier and will now sit in it contently and sleep.

My first hated the car unless someone was sitting in the back with her. It did get better though! I think it was around when she could hold on to toys and then even better when she could hold a sippy of water and a snack cup. Hang in there!
Pacifier is the only thing that helps with my lo. The only problem is she doesn't really want it when she's calm, and generally has her freak out mid trip.
