Trader Joe's recalled their raw walnuts yesterday due to salmonella (whole, pieces, halves - the whole shebang, I believe). No illnesses reported, apparently, but you know. ~the more you know~
Yes, I have a Google alert for "FDA food recall," and yes, I realize that makes me kind of over the top about that whole topic. But as Eric Cartman says, it's my hot body, I do what I want. (And in this case, what I want is to be anal retentive about food safety risk, because, you, know, first PAIF pg, etc. and so forth.)
