I'm making baby food today. Doing some cleaning and laundry. Spending tons of time playing with DS, since that's been cut down drastically during the week. I really want to go for a walk and enjoy the great weather.
nachomomma - Sorry, I have to tips for toddler time. Maybe take him to the aquarium one on one? Or just a park or something you can do just the two of you?
I feel so adventurous at the moment because we actually did something today! (This rarely happens...). Just got back from the aquarium and lunch at bar Louis with a couple friends and their kiddo.
May try to get to a park at the peak of warmth tomorrow cause I'm having some cabin fever after the warm weather teases! DS tried out the swings for the first time last weekend and it was a hit, so probably add that into the plan followed by a walk.

Thanks guys! We'll probably just go to a playground tomorrow. They're so easy to please at this age, he'll just be excited to be out. sstwinklinglites what kinds of baby food are you making?

Today I made basmati rice, green beans with butter, and sweet potato and pear mash.

No real plans. We went to Fuel coffee (near Eli's Bbq) this morning for Cars and Coffee. I packed up 2.5 garbage bags of clothes and 2 boxes of home decor/kitchen stuff to be donated. Tomorrow H is supposed to be putting down some stepping stones in the yard.

DH and Fil are creating a handrail for the basement stairs. It's been a two day project so far. I've been taking the babe everywhere solo. Bout to go to church, this should be interesting.

Sounds like they should have hired a pro. Maybe they're doing it on purpose? Lol.

This is probably one of the more difficult projects. His dad is experienced in all types of carpentry, but this has to be exact- think the spindles all lined up in the holes and all that. I'm annoyed. This is the last step in the basement project that was done while I was pregnant. It's bringing back memories of how aggravating that was. I try to hire everything out. But my DH won't hire it out unless it's dangerous- like our insanely steep roof.
It's been a nice weekend. Went to the mothers exchange sale and a few parks yesterday. Also did a pumping and return to work class at BC yesterday and it was fabulous... Would recommend it to anyone.
Today's been a relaxing Sunday. Meant to go back to church today but we slept in and it felt wonderful! Are anyone of you in the FB cincy working moms group? I'm going to the wine/book club this afternoon.
becole what other home projects have you guys done?
We've done a handful the last month... We bought a granny house (same old lady owner for 66 years...) that needed some updates. It's been fun to see the transformation.
lindsay We finished the basement they are standing it. It was a cement floor before. Roof, hvac, water heater, humidifier, crown moulding, back splash, kitchen flooring and appliances, lots of pain, removed paneling and drop ceiling in office and dry walled. New overhang on wood outside...
I would like to take out my kitchen wall and open my living room up and do an island where the wall was. What are your projects lindsay. Our house is 75 years old

lindsay I'm looking forward to checking out Blue Cocoon. Did you happen to catch a glimpse of the mom+me play cafe while you were there?! As you know, I'm part of that Facebook group and had planned to go to today's event. But DD and I still aren't feeling back to 100% yet and I don't want to get anyone else sick. Let me know how it goes! I haven't met any of those ladies yet so I'll be interested to hear all about it.
becole wow you've been busy! I bet it's super nice making it exactly how you want it. We pulled up all the carpet and refinished all the hardwood that was underneath. It was a ton of work for someone with no flooring experience (my husband). Also installed some cabinetry (storage is lacking on the main floor), painted most of the rooms, painted the wood paneling, installed a dryer vent and have some minor plumbing and roofing work to do at some point (may get a pro for those). Also lots of ikea projects lol
ladytiffany24 Yes it looks like it's going to be great! Still some parts under construction. The play area looks great. I talked to Ashley and sounds like she's planning to have the cafe be a BYOB (wine) type of thing.
Today's g2g was good, lots of cool girls. It was a pretty big turn out. Some of the ladies have been in the group for a few years and were already good friends, but most of us were new and it was our first g2g. Everyone was there for the wine lol. We may read a book...

A BYOB play cafe?!?! Sounds like the perfect spot for our group!!! Lol.
Glad to hear that g2g went well. I could tell by some conversations that some of the ladies have known each other for a while. But I'm glad to hear there are a lot of newbies like us!

nachomomma Every Saturday morning, Fuel Coffee hosts cars and coffee. It's just getting coffee and walking around to look at cars,it's kind of like an anti-car show that's not a show. It's cool though bc you never know what or who will be there.
becole Did you guys DIY the drywall or hire someone? Only two rooms in our house have drywall, the rest have painted paneling so we'll be tackling this sooner or later.

becole and lindsay we did a bunch of renovations after buying our house too! It was a pain to live in a construction site, but we're so happy with everything we did. mrscatfarmer13 that sounds awesome. I'm putting it on my list of things to do soon.

We're there most Saturdays. The earlier you get there the better.

My husband framed the walls and hung the drywall but we paid someone to do the finishing. The guy we got to mud and tape the basement did it in a single day! The office was like 3 days but both guys were pretty cheap.

All that stuff has been over the last 6 years. We just do one thing at a time. and there is literally 5 more things that we could still do.

Hey ladies! It's been pretty busy over here with the 2 week old.
All grandparents that don't live with us are finally all gone. I do not recommend having house guests for 7 weeks, holy hell. Things with the kids are going great, all of them pretty much amazing. We went to the park Saturday because it felt great. It was the first time my DH went out with us and it was wonderful to watch him with the kids. We did put an offer in on a house and a structural engineer is going to look at it tomorrow. I hope it's not too bad we have already dropped over a grand on different services, I would hate to have the money go to waste. Not only that........ I live in about a thousand square foot house and this one is 3200 on 8.5 acres just 5 min from where I live now. Three kids, my mom, DH and I and our dog is over running this house.
