My plan is death. I'm not a fighter.

First, put bicycles, canoe, tents, weapons on hand (guns we currently own + my bow, and some decent knives) + all non-perishable food into the back of my truck with tent, tarps, warm clothes etc. drive as far north as possible stopping for gas at every opportunity. Then transfer everything into canoes and paddle into northern wilderness. Set up camp either high up a mountain or on an island. Zombies would freeze in the winter/get washed away in the fast current.

(Continued from randoms) part 3: ongoing greenhouse plans to grow your own food. MH has already started a mini greenhouse consisting of a clear egg carton and empty egg shells with seeds and dirt and shit.

Also, wear Kevlar/fire retardant material at all times to decrease the risk of skin breaking/infection from bites/scratches if in close quarters.

We had a team building activity/discussion once in class about picking a team for the zombie apocalypse. Nobody wanted me on their team when I said I didn't think I could ever kill someone...even a zombie. I'm with @led, I'd probably be one of the first to go. BUT I'm a really good people person, so I could totes be the group mediator...at least that's what I said to get people to pick me on their team, ha. #imalover #notafighter

DH has an in-depth plan.
We pack up Smudge, and anyone else we want to survive. Drive to the camp he went to growing up, and stay there for the duration. It's in a valley, with a river, and buildings for shelter. And there a couple of small town not far away for supply runs. I don't know the full plan. I do know that he plans to abandon anyone who slows him down... I should probably start working out.

As much as I say we have a fighting chance (remote islands in northern WI, no one knows we're there), but I have asthma, as soon as my meds were gone I'd be done for.

H and I have decided that we're not going to be the stupid emotional people who immediately go looking for friends and family. That's how you die. Presuming that these are typical Romero/Walking Dead zombies, we will hide out as long as possible in our barricaded house (we have boards in the basement that could cover the windows and a nail gun to make quick work of it) and eat down our pantry and freezer (while the power lasts). The church next to our house has a food pantry. If necessary, we could raid that. After the initial pandemonium, we're going to an uninhabited island near our house and avoiding other humans at all costs. No Terminus bullshit for me!

I mean this with as much love as possible, but I tend to think of YH as more MacGruber than MacGyver.

I'd also keep my eye out for a sword - bullets run out and you don't always get your arrows back. I'd make do with our axe/hatchet until then though.

ETA: if we are talking WWZ zombies vs TWD zombies then the plan changes. Grab guns, sleeping bag, canoe and get the fuck away from all civilization as fast as possible taking every back road until I can get to a water way and canoe my ass to northern Canada. I'll figure out food and shelter once I'm sure my ass isn't going to be insta-dead.

I plan on packing all our mountain climbing gear and drive to the most wild and farthest place away from civilization, where no one would ever think to be. Plus food, gas, a ton of clothes. And my Kindle....lol.....annnnnnnnd Hyundai Santa Fe or whatever from the Walking Dead because that thing NEVER broke down or ran out of gas!!

I feel like I would do ok in the zombie apocalypse... We have many guns and I feel like that's one of the most important parts. I'd get all my non-perishable food, get my camping stuff, make myself some body armor like Ray said, and get myself to an island. I wouldn't go north...too cold. But if you can get to an island with a fresh water source then you have food (fish and crabs and shit), water, and a fixed number of zombies to eradicate.
