I should be doing laundry and making a grocery list, but the dog is sleeping on me and I love him to much to disturb his slumber.
We buy our dog his own peanut butter, which he gets in a Kong every time we eat. We also regularly buy him bones. My SO also puts people food on his dinner. We'll plan our weekends around him so he hopefully isn't alone TOO long. Spoiled, spoiled puppy.

Our cats have this monstrosity of a cat tree that completely blocks the view out the window in our family room. We bought it in the hopes they would stay off of the couch. Now they just use the couch AND the cat tree. Our dog has a bed in pretty much every room of the house and during the summer I raid garage sales for stuffed animals for her. I also buy chicken broth for my dogs food because she likes "soup". She also goes to daycare to see her friends and gets brushed everyday because she loves it. We also may have based the decision to buy this home on the fact that it has a huge fenced in backyard for the pup to run and play in.
Haha his real name is Jeb but he answers to meatball and buppy. None of our cats are called their real name except for Butters.
one of our cat's real names in Sammy but for some reason T calls her Moose.
Our boy cat's name is Edward. We call him boycat or sammichcat. Abigail is another, we occasionally call her ninja cat when she somehow gets ridiculous places like in the top kitchen cabinets or in the drop down ceiling.
I grow cat grass for our cats. I used to take boycat on walks on a leash (he does great), but our new apartment complex has too many huge dogs When we finally get a house in two years I am planning on cat proofing it so he can play in the yard.

When my oldest dog turned a year old we threw her a party. We lived in NYC at the time and we were part of a meetup.com group for owners of the same breed. We threw a meetup on her birthday at a puppy daycare place and bought dog treats for the dogs and like a case of wine and some snacks for the people. People brought our dog wrapped birthday presents. It was easily the most ridiculous thing we've ever done.

We bought a ramp for our dog (granted he's huge) to get in and out of the SUV. It was mainly because he hurts himself jumping down 3 feet, but totally unnecessary for a 4 yo pup. He is very much spoiled.

Have you ever gone to the off-leash hours in Prospect Park? Alot of the purebred dogs congregate together. The Huskys usually stand at the top of the hill watching all the other dogs.

We haven't, but we used to love doing off leash nights in Central Park when we lived in the neighborhood. It is really funny how breeds gravitate to each other.

Umm, we just recently spent $4,500 on emergency surgery to save our cat's life. I know a lot of people would not spend that kind of money on an animal, but he's only 5 years old and we just couldn't imagine him not being around.

We have one of those too. I rationalized it by saying, hey, hopefully not as many hip problems when they get older right?
I thought of another one - my mom only uses bottled water in her little beta tank and changes it out weekly. Lol
My mom only gives her dog bottled water too... haha!
I don't really spoil my dogs but whenever they go and stay with my parents for a few days they always come back a few pounds heavier. My mom must give them treats constantly...

From what I've seen on Pinterest, it seems dog birthday parties and annual photos are becoming more popular!
I want a ginormous cat tree but every time I go to buy on my H tells me he will build me one. He has never built it yet lol. I'm afraid my one cat will get stuck on it. He is not smart. He don't realize that he can jump any higher than the couch. In order to get on top of higher surfaces like the computer desk he jumps on couch and walks around to get up on desk.
My husband buys the dog a big bone at tractor supply. He then takes the drippings from the roast or what ever he made for dinner that day and basts the bone and bakes it for her. Lol.

Like you, I'm also not most people.. We spent the same amount on knee surgery for my adult dog, only to be told there was a 75% chance that within a year she'd need the same surgery for the same injury on the other knee. She did. After she healed we rescued a puppy so she'd have someone to play with and make her exercise. He drives me insane, but she's lost 10 lbs.
When we bought our house and furnished it we specifically picked a color and fabric that hid fur the best. We keep a lint roller by the door for guests. I've given up hope of leaving the house without fur on my own clothes.
i also pay more attention to the ingredients in their food than in my own. I'm considering buying a meat grinder so I can make my own dog and cat food. Apparently it's cheaper.
Oh, and my pets only get Brita water. I'm usually ok with tap though.

I hope your little guy is ok. We have a credit card specifically in case anything like that happens. I would have done the same thing without a second thought.

Just saw dh doing this one. When we peal carrots, we peal it directly onto the floor and the dogs have a little race to pick them up and eat them. It makes it easy clean up, less waste, and they enjoy it!

In the last 24hrs I have hand picked up dog puke to find any evidence of what they ate to make them sick, wiped dog butts and let them sleep in the bed so they could be comfortable while I slept on the couch. In the last week I have cleaned horse sheaths and teats, and also picked up barehanded a horse nugget to feel the consistency to make sure the pony was hydrated appropriately. It only gets worse (better) from there. My life is lived for the happiness of animals.

You could have described a scene in my kitchen. No vegetable end or peel goes to waste in our house (except onion, bc I've read they're no good for dogs, but they would eat them too).

Our pup is so spoiled. We live with MIL currently, so we have 4 dogs total in the house. Ours is the only one that gets the super yummy dental treats, stuffed animals (we have several on backup for when she inevitably destroys them), and she's got 3 chew toys in her crate for when we aren't home, as well as a polar fleece tie blanket and we put on classical music for her before we leave. She's also got a kong tire that we put treats in for her to have when we aren't home. She also lays on the bed or couch all day when we are home, when the original plan was for no pets on the furniture.

Yep I'll get their dinner ready and they'll get some veggies added in. Green beans and carrots are their favorites. And they'll eat any type of fruit! But they can't have anything with seeds. Grapes, blackberries, etc. those are no Nos in the dog world too.

Even if I didn't have the money I would go into debt to save an animal that young's life. No question.

He's doing great now. It's been a month since his surgery and he's back to normal and has regained all the weight he lost. Just waiting for his hair to grow back. He's sporting an awesome haircut right now. :-)
