Uptown Funk is her absolute favorite. She even copies the dance moves from the video - and we have to play it the entire time we are in the car. over and over and over.
If we dance, he'll go all out. The better the beat the harder he goes. Pitbull and Sean Paul are winners. He crazy dances to a few theme songs like Thomas and Paw Patrol.
Pitbull fan here too - Fireball gets a "woo woo" when it comes on
Oh gosh he loves dancing! Here are a few if his faves. Rather Be by Clean Bandit Hot Dog from the mickeys clubhouse Eye of the Tiger LOVES this! Maniac Hey Mickey Blank Space Some Michael Jackson stuff
DD loves the hot dog song from Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Backyardigans The Yeti song, Shake it Off by Taylor Swift and there are some others that I can't think of right now. My kids love to dance
Oh, and I have to add this (just because I thought it was the cutest thing ever) - I had an appointment for a NST when I was pregnant and had to take M with me. When she heard the heartbeat she started twerking to it. I had to control my laughter so I didn't mess up the test!
Let It Go calms her down in the car Other than that she loves 40's & 50's music when my dad sings to her. I can't wait to see what she does once she can stand on her own!

Janis Joplin's Piece of My Heart is a big hit right now (the ILs sent a bunch of their old LPs). We recently took the bandstand back out and he loves pushing the buttons and dancing to it too!
'Happy' will also get M rocking, and Taylor Swift. She copies the Super Readers dance at the end of Super Why and will dance to pretty much anything with a beat. Her favourite is anything that papa (my stepdad) plays her on his guitar. She makes up all sorts of very new age moves when she's dancing to his songs.
B is a dancer. He likes the hot dog song (of course), anything by t swift, And Mat Kearney and the modern family theme song- he'll stop everything to break it down for that.
And he has a recent train obsession so he's been watching this video on YouTube called "steam trains galore"- it is literally just trains- no music or anything and he dances to the "Chuga chuga" sound of the trains.
She likes any type of funk music. One time when we were in old Navy the were playing funk music and she got down in the middle of the store and people thought it was really cute When she was really little, like under 8 or 9 months, Get Lucky by Daft Punk calmed her down really well when she was upset.
Oh my gosh cl8badb D's favs are Rather Be (clean bandit) and Shake it off! And the hot dog song of course
Thats too funny! J and D need to have a dance party! It took me a while to figure it out but im convinced that J thinks Rather Be is about his bunny lovey that he calls "B". On the rare occasions that the song was on and he had B he would grab B and say "B" when the song said "be". Silly boy!
This thread makes me feel 60 years old. DH hates pop music, and I mostly only listen to NPR (sometimes country music- my guilty pleasure) in the car. FIL is really into sound systems, and mostly plays Jazz and Classical. B loves bouncing to jazz. He points at the stereo and dances when he wants someone to turn music on.
They play normal kid music at BabyWork though, so at least B is getting some exposure

vitafelix Ah, don't feel bad. I honestly haven't heard of most of the songs being referenced on this thread! The closest DS ever got to current music was his 'Call me Maybe' obsession last year
