So I am in the waiting room to see my OB, and since the last time I saw him he's moved offices and consolidated practices with other OBs. I had to fill in the patient intake form again, and one of the questions was "how many children do you have?" Following that was "have you had any miscarriages?" I was told by this OB that in the medical field Parker is considered a miscarriage since he was born before 24 weeks. I put 2 miscarriages for the second field and left the first one blank. I couldn't put 0, but I didn't want to misrepresent how many times I've been pregnant.
Oh Flutter! I'm so sorry. I don't consider ParKer a miscarriage at all! My dr told me anything after 20 weeks is considered pre term. My twins were born at 21 weeks. I had to spend hours on the phone with the hospital and funeral home obtaining death certificates and authorization to take my babies home. (We have a family cemetery). Miscarriages don't require a death certificate. That is a tough question to answer, but you will always be his mother. And He will always be your first baby! So sorry you had to endure that
BFP: 7-22-14 EDD 4-7-15 US 8-21-14 revealed spontaneous twins New EDD 3-10-15 PTL due to IC-11-22-14 @ 21 weeks Loss date: Lydia 11-24-14 & Lane 11-25-14 BFP#2- 3/15/15 EDD- 11/26/15
I am so, so sorry. I have done that 3 times so far. I sort of always leave it blank now. Forms do not explain everything I have been through. I don't really "count" my CP the month after J died. Also... Well, all of it is terrible.
I am glad you left it blank. There should be a better way to ask all of these questions. And leaving it blank highlights that.
I hate forms. Hugs. (Also, 24 weeks is NOT a miscarriage. Says a girl who had a miscarriage at 10 weeks. TOTALLY DIFFERENT!
