rondackhiker How did you take her ice skating? Logistically, I mean.
I put a helmet on her and put her in our beast of a stroller. I haven't used it with her yet. It's a massive Graco with four wheels and it's solid.
I'm a good skater and I had light grip on the stroller. If you'd brace on it and not let go in a fall, don't do it.
I went to a quiet outdoor skating rink that's a path and my plan was to wear her and walk in the snow beside Ds skating if it was trickier than I planned.
I've also gone rollerblading with her in the stroller. FFFC?
Cereal is definitely my go to. I seriously love the stuff. DH enjoys making fun of all of the kiddie cereals I have in the pantry that are just for me.
bunny Poor LO, that sucks. Based on what I've read about egg allergies it's usually the egg white that has the proteins that are commonly allergenic. I'm not saying your DD isn't allergic to the yolks, just passing on the only info I have.
Kind of. Did you watch? I love that Whitney turned their date into something unplanned. I bet the bride and groom freaked out when they figured it out.
Ahh, broccolisgirl I'm watching right now. What ever Whitney did/said I haven't seen it yet. I just passed the hot tub make out session. I didn't see a Bachelor thread. I don't like how much I have to scroll on the app to see all of the threads
Hugs djtippietoes I know you've been so stressed about A's weight & development for a long time. Hopefully EI will be reassuring for you.
If it makes you feel even a slight bit better... G is only 17.2 lbs/28 in which is the 11th% for height + weight. I worry so much about her weight especially now that she isn't drinking formula or from a bottle..we dropped the bottle fully today. Whatever she drinks has to be from a sippy from today forward. Her WCM intake + regular foods isn't exactly conducive to me keeping up with exactly how many calories she gets...
Just curious why you went off the formula and bottle if weight is a significant issue? Not judging, I'm honestly just curious.
Good question but when we introduced milk she refused the formula.
She'd been on Nutramigen since like 3 months and she never drank it well. She does much better with the regular milk..if it's in a bottle..but our pedi said no more bottles period.
ETA I even tried enfagrow and she just wasn't having it.. She's push it away and turn her head.
I fed LO an egg yolk for the first time this weekend. She threw up 2 hours later, then again, then again. No further symptoms after that. I'm assuming this is an egg allergy, and my plan is to avoid eggs and bring this up at her one year visit. (though she did not have any reaction when given the flu shot). Does anyone else have any experience with egg allergy in their LO? I'm wondering if they did testing.
bunny E has a diagnosed egg allergy. The scary part for us was she had eggs 4-5 times before she had a reaction, which the allergist said can happen to children under one. Our reaction was head-to-toe hives but I do know that vomiting is also a sign. We did the scratch test which was completely painless and E didn't even notice. The allergist said we could also do the blood test but we declined that option since the scratch test was so clearly positive. I think there ate sometimes false negatives with the scratch test so the blood test can be more definitive.
There are some good things about egg allergies- 90% of kids grow out of them (vs 40% for peanut) and most kids can tolerate baked egg in things like muffins, etc. I guess baking the egg changes the protein. Egg allergies are also much less likely to be anaphylactic, but of course it does happen so we were given an epi pen prescription.
Sorry for the novel, pm me if you have any questions. I would do the scratch test again in a heartbeat- it was so easy. If your LO has an egg intolerance vs an allergy that can be more tricky. Good luck!
