QOTD3/24

Not really a QOTD type Q, but since there wasn't a QOTD I thought I'd put something in to fill the void.

What super cute/smart/funny whatever has your LO done lately?

DD is sticker obsessed. We put some stickers in her coloring book and I put the paper the sticker comes on on the floor beside me and told her it was trash. She picked it up and walked off towards the kitchen. I followed her and watched her put it in the bin. I've never asked or shown her to put trash in the bin and I don't let her get to close to it because I'm nervous she'll try to grab something gross out of it. My mind was blown.

We read for a 1/2 hour every night. She picked up a newish book that we've read a handful of times and kept saying 'share'. I thought she was saying 'chair' (chair sounds like share when she says it) and didn't think much of it. We got a few pages in and it was about a squirrel sharing his nuts. She pointed and said 'share, share'. Omg my kid is a genius! Lol. Well. Maybe not genius but she's one clever girl.

I loooove how she giggles hysterically when I cover her face and neck with kisses.

So many things, I just love this age so much! Tonight DD lifted up her shirt and put it over her head to hide from us and laughed hysterically. Love her clever new "hiding spots" she comes up with.

We went to the toy store recently so DD could spend some money her great grandma sent her. She picked out a little pull along alligator that wiggles and click-clacks. She wants to take it for walks every day. Today we went to the mall and she walked it everywhere. Then she noticed that she was attracting a lot of attention with her cuteness and figured that everyone at the mall must be her personal fan club. She would walk along click-clacking away, then stop about every 5 feet or so and do a full circle waving to everyone. It made for a slow shopping trip but was hilariously adorable.

She learned to climb up DS's bunk bed ladder today. I thought that would take at least 6 more months. I'm going to have my hands full with her trying to climb up there now.

Both kiss on demand now and it's super adorable. They also will hold hands while sitting in their highchairs (I put both side by side when it's just me feeding them). Kayla is also picking up words left, right, and center. (Ashley is more content to just point at what she wants and scream.)

Last night he could tell I was upset about something and out if nowhere without me asking, he stood up gave me a big hug and a kiss. Cutest thing ever.

He also now says "Truck"
But it comes out as a Four letter cuss word instead...

Haha! Don't worry, this is a very common toddler pronunciation of truck. Every parent will know what he means when he yells the f word across the parking lot :-P

DS has also somehow figured out where the trash goes, without us ever explicitly showing him. He'll also use a napkin and (very lightly and ineffectually) rub it across his face, and then take it to the trash.

He also recently figured out how to lock and unlock doors (eek). But it's the burst of language that's blowing me away at the moment. So many more words!

She's never been a cuddly child, but lately I pick her up and she gives the biggest hugs and rubs my back. I melt, every single time! She also says "eaaaase" (please) and "da-dew" (thank you) for everything.

I love this so much.  How adorable . I hope you got a video of it.

She doesn't do anything very funny right now, in fact she is mostly a total wreck. I think we are working through canine teeth and 18 month sleep regression. DH joked that she will be the kid that is starting fires by the age of 3

DS on the other hand is HILARIOUS. The other night I said to him...."Dude, dont you wear any clothes?" and his response was...."Nope....I just dance" Ok Patrick Swayze

DD has been working on hers too. Her top two finally cut and now she is just working on the bottom two, it's getting better but has been a rough couple weeks. It will get better!

I actually have an air mattress in DD's room where I sleep when she is having rough nights. Sometimes just knowing I am in the room with her helps her sleep, other times she wakes up crying and needs to cuddle for an hour or so before she will let me put her back in her crib, but it's easier for me to get up and get her when I'm in the same room.

DD likes to care for her Mickey Mouse latley. She puts him in the highchair and tries to feed him. Last night she brought him her juice and her Cheerios. I just bought a doll stroller for her so she walks him around.

She is also giving awesome kisses now. Puckers up, aims for the lips and makes the sounds. Kills me everytime.
