You guys are sweet!
We were discharged from the hospital on Monday 1/12 and it took her a few days to adjust to being back home and being poked/prodded every 3 hours. It's amazing how unsteady she was on her feet after 3 days in a hospital bed! She's back to eating and drinking as normal and is at about 85% of her strength and motion which the doctors said is excellent after a major surgery. Her sleep schedule has been messed up because of the monitoring in the hospital, but we are working on it! She is taking Tylenol or Motrin only every 6 hours for pain.
Unfortunately she woke up Sunday 1/18 and had a fever of 102.5 (on Tylenol), which anytime you have a surgery and your temp is over 101 afterwards you need to be evaluated for an infection. So we called the after hours line and were told to go to the ER. Our surgery was performed about 2 hours from home so we packed our overnight bags and hit the road. After a chest X-ray, ultrasound, blood work, Cathed urine sample and a nasal swab they were unable to find any reason for her temperature and ruled out the big issues (surgical site infection, lung infection or sepsis). After being admitted for 24hrs of surveillance and two rounds of antibiotics to kill whatever was causing the fever, we got to go home yesterday afternoon. Thankfully LO is adjusting quicker this time to being back home and is weak again from the hospital bed but no where near as bad as before. I'm really hopeful that will be our last trip to the hospital before baby #2 arrives! The good news from our ER trip is that she is overall healthy and the surgery was done perfectly without evidence of infection. The fever is still kicking around but at least we don't have to worry about it as much as we might have before the weekend.
Thank you all for your continued thoughts and prayers we really appreciate it!
Wow, she's a strong little girl! Thoughts and prayers you stay away from the hospital til #2 arrives and your LO gets stronger and stronger! Thank you for the update!

What an ordeal. I'm so sorry you had to go back for her fever but I'm glad everything came back negative. Wishing you peace and health for your daughter and the rest of your pregnancy.

I am sorry you had to go back to the hospital, but I am glad that she doesn't have an infection. It sounds like her recovery is going well. I hope that she is 100% soon! Thoughts and prayers for you and your LOs.
