Hope you don't mind a total noob coming in to pick your brains!
I am fresh off of a third miscarriage in a year, and while no concrete decisions have been made just yet, MH and I are strongly considering adoption as our next step in building a family. I've been lurking on this board since we crossed over from TD, and there are really no words to describe how much your FAQ section has already helped our confidence level in moving forward. Although the pain of our loss is still very new, we no longer feel our future is bleak and devoid of the children we so desperately want. Based on your recommendations we took a trip to b&n this morning and purchased "you CAN adopt" (the idiots/dummies guides were not available and are being ordered), and have already eaten through more than half the book. it's really an a-ha moment and i am looking forward to learning more about the process. Again, this is all very new - i'm only about to just request information packets from a few different agencies- but it just seemed wrong to stay a lurker when we plan to utilize you smart folks in our plan, whatever that may end up being. Thank you for your wealth of knowledge; it has already made what felt like an impossible road ahead of us seem manageable.
Some background on us: I'm 27; DH is 38. We've been married for a year this April (together for a total of 4.) I've experienced three missed miscarriages and testing has shown no explanation, but the emotional and physical toll the losses have taken are enough for us to open our minds to the adoption process. The more we read, the more we feel this is the kind of family we are meant to have. Looking forward to getting to know you guys! (/endcheese)
