As I lay awake unable to sleep, I find myself browsing the web and half-heartedly watching ID discovery (which is beginning to depress me and make me a little more paranoid than usual). Normally I will fall asleep with TV, but tonight even this is not working for me!
I really need to get some zzzzz's! What are some of the things you ladies do when Pregsomnia strikes?

I try a hot tea about an hour before bed to avoid waking to pee, lots of pillows packed around me and only going to bed when I'm really sleepy. Reading helps sometimes except lately I've finished books in 2 days because I'm not getting more tired as I go, so not sure what to do about that! Also an essential oil spray for sleep helps sometimes to just relax into slower breathing. Good luck.
I'm right there with you tonight. It's after 1:00 and I'm wide awake. I just lay in bed and get pissed off. I'm also 1000 degrees at night too, well, all the time really, so that makes it worse. The sound of my husband sleeping beside me makes me want to kick him in the crotch. So yes, im not helpful, just bitter.

This was the topic of my pregnancy book for tonight - I'm going to try some of these because it's awful and most of the time I just lay in bed beating myself up for not sleeping:
- Take a warm bath - Have a small snack before bed - Relaxation techniques such as deep breathing. - Calming scent in a potpourri - Calming fragrance on your pillow - Exercise during the day
If you still can't sleep, get up and do something relaxing: read a book, watch TGV, or listen to calming music until you feel sleepy.

Toast and warm milk helps. Also to eat sitting some where not in your room. Keep lights dim. Or read something while eating. Act like you dont need to go to sleep and then all of a sudden you get sleepy.

Or I guess post a topic to the boards lol. I think I finally fell asleep about 20 mins or so after I posted this! Great suggestions everyone I'm exhausted this morning of course. Hopefully tonight will be better!
Watching Wrestlemania with my husband...made me sleepy enough that I went upstairs put on PJS (we had people over earlier for a bbq so I couldn't be in all comfy clothing) Climbed into bed and fell right asleep!
I had terrible pregsomnia with my first. This time I've been able to manage it pretty well by taking a Benadryl every night before bed. My bestie was able to get rest with half a unisom, but it doesn't seem to work for me. Sorry to be the drug pusher -it just works and I wouldn't be able to function with my toddler without it.
Tons of pillows. I'm going to be an asshole (and probably jinx myself) and say that I don't have this problem this time. I sleep like a rock, with crazy vivid dreams every night, aside from getting up to pee 3-4 times. But despite that, I never feel like I've had enough sleep and constantly want more so don't hate me too much.
I'm no help here. I'm like Chandler: "If I go to sleep now, I'll get 6 hours of sleep. But if I go to sleep now, I'll get 5 hours. If I go to sleep now, I'll get 4 hours..." And then I fall asleep during important moments lol. I find if I let myself get really sleepy I fall asleep easier (duh) so no more naps for me!

Some nights I fall asleep hard and sleep like a rock, other nights it takes forever and I toss and turn all night. Even on the good sleep nights I'm up to pee at least three times. Even with tapering off liquids in the evening. Tonight I'm going to try turning off the TV earlier, and a little lavender on my pillow.

I'm so jealous benedryl works for you! My OB recommended I try that on Friday and it's doing nothing! she also said I can take tylenol PM but I'm too chicken.

Insomnia is trying to break me! I was managing 3 or 4 hours of broken sleep but now I keep going the whole night with nothing. I just lay there awake all night. Worst stretch was 7 nights the week before last week. I had a few nights of 2 or 3 hours after that but now I'm back on a stretch of a few days of nothing. I can't tell which way is up! Is anyone else literally not falling asleep for days on end??
The past few nights I've slept so crappily, that I wake up exhausted instead of rested.
Last night I woke up MOTN a few times, couldn't fall back asleep right away, and when I finally did I woke up to J crying at 4:15a. She had dropped her nummy on the floor I think... (which she did 2 nights ago too). Someone was up and went in there right as I got out of bed. Not sure who it was though - maybe FIL? All I know is I was grateful they went in, but pissed I had already climbed out of bed and had to get comfortable again!
I also seem to have gotten H's cough that he's had all weekend... he went to urgent care this morning and has an upper respiratory infection and bronchitis.... The worst part is that when I cough I pee my pants a little each time.... yesterday I changed my underwear twice after I got home from work! And I coughed so hard after going to the bathroom that it made my throw up part of my dinner It's totally keeping me awake at night or waking me at night too, so take the regular poor sleep I had and multiply it by 10... THIS SUCKS.
With DD, I would get up and take a short shower, rebrush my teeth and go back to bed. That usually worked.
Right now, though, DD is in a omg-mom-don't-leave-me-alone-I'll-wake-up-instantly phase (yay, teething) so I'm pretty much just stuck in bed, hoping the glow from my phone as I check facebook doesn't wake her
This is one of the parts that makes me want to smack people when they say "enjoy your sleep now!" No, you jerk. No.

Here I am! If I go to sleep now I can get 4 hours and 45 minutes! I was crying an hour ago because I was still awake. Now I am downstairs and can still hear snoring. TV it is?

I had about 2 hours sleep in total last night. I was getting so cross with myself (which obviously does not help) but it's so fustrating. With every hour that passed I was thinking "that's one less before my alarm goes off" and now I've got to go and do a stupid late/oncall shift at the hospital and I know I won't be done and home/back in bed till at least 10pm. I hate pregsomnia!

I'm up with you ladies tonight. For the second time I was woken up by stabbing gas pains. Both times I have been terrified they were contractions. This time I realized what it was a bit quicker. It hurts worse to lay down, so I'm just sitting here
It probably doesn't help that I went to sleep at 9:30pm to try and actually GET SOME SLEEP. Being up every 1-2 hours is seriously fucking with how rested I feel, even if I "get" 10 hours of sleep. Ugh.
It's usually my body not letting me sleep. Tonight it's the crazy wind. I also cannot stop thinking about all the towns that were devastated by the tornadoes and all the first responders who were out.
