I had a great time in Texas for my friend's wedding, and for the most part DS handled the trip like a champ, but I am oh so grateful to be home. DH and I did lots of little weekend trips to see friends / family in our pre-baby life, and I'm not used to being so emotionally worn out by not being at home in my usual routine.
Glad to hear the trip went well! Even local outings is still a little overwhelming, so I'm very impressed with those of you who have traveled with your LOs.
DH took the new position at work that comes with a big raise. Now I'm wanting to contact my work and see if I can extend my leave to the full 12 weeks they offer.

Congratulations cougarette! DS and I are in the middle of a get back to sleep face off and I'm trying to stop wasting my time googling (for the 700th time) stupid things like "when will baby start to sleep longer stretches?" I knew I was in trouble yesterday evening. He was being a crankasaurus all evening and napped probably more than 70% of daytime hours. Oooh welllllll

jensoprano82, hehe crankasaurus, good one! My LO mutated into that species as well!
Congrats to your husband cougarette, and well done lilyelayne, ! We've not travelled yet but I can really imagine it will be tiring. Weekend of the 18th will be our first trip. We're going to my parents' 40th wedding anniversary, they live on the seaside so they've hired a boat to have a party. So unlike my parents to throw a party, let alone a big one, so we're all really curious!
We're taking a break today from all the moving. Yesterday friends came to help us, they were only going to take the boxes but ended up taking most of the furniture also. I think the movers that come tomorrow are gonna be pretty pissed to see there's only half the amount of stuff they expected (they get paid per hour). But oh well, expensive times and helpful friends means this mamma don't give a hoot . I want to get in to town and buy some clothes as nothing fits, but DS decided now would be a perfect time to go for a napping record so I'm patiently waiting and getting some cleaning done.
Missed being on here, glad things are calming down a bit to catch up!
Brr, it is chilly in my house this morning. We had a coldish weekend but it was going to warm up again this week so we didn't want to turn the heater on. I should have dressed DD warmer last night, but the cold didn't seem to upset her, she still slept until 6:30.
I want to murder my female cat. She's been attacking the boys since last night, seemingly unprovoked. The boys are currently on the couch with me and if Penny comes out of my bedroom they start growling at her. Ugh, wtf. I feel like it has to do with the fact that DD was with my parents this weekend, and we brought her home after dinner yesterday. They've been acting strange since we got home.
Between readjusting to DD's nighttime noises and the cats being psychopaths, I didn't get a great night's sleep. I guess this is my payment for having a relaxing weekend.
I'm checking in quickly while G chills in his chair.
We have a 10-day house sit starting soon for DH's boss which coincides nicely with our move. Basically, we get a staging area to get out of our temporary place a little sooner and I have a chance to give it a good wipe down.
I've got my 6-week check tomorrow and I'm hoping to be cleared for everything. I'd like to get to the gym on Wednesday, especially since DH wants to do an improv session that night. Wednesday the nurse comes by to check up on G as well.
Good morning! This is the last full day in TX with my parents. It's been a great week but I will be happy to get back home to DH and to a routine for DD. Hopefully we can get settled quickly and then can start the transition to the crib.
LO slept in 2 hour+ intervals last night! He only woke to cry for his milk. That's a huge improvement from his previous every hour wakenings just to fuss! Small victory. Now I need to figure out how to get him to go longer between feeds.
Here's a dilemma that I face almost nightly: LO screams MOTN; I woke up with a fill bladder. Do I go sooth him first, or leave him and make a beeline to the bathroom, or go do my business with him in my arms?

I usually pee then go get him (depending on how bad I have to go). Otherwise, I'll be trying to hurry up the feeding so I can go.
Not much going on today. My MIL is coming up either tomorrow or later today. Not quite sure yet. Either way, looking forward to it. They have only made day trips every few weeks and it will be nice to have another set of hands for a bit! We are seeing them next weekend too, since they are coming to my families Passover, but they won't get much alone time with DS....lots of relatives he hasn't met yet, including my grandparents, so he will be in high demand.

Depends on if DH has slept in our room or not. If he has, I hold it. If not, baby gets to wait. Makes him hungrier anyway and then he eats better and sleeps better

LO slept great last night, but then woke up this morning with terrible congestion. He doesn't have a fever, and I'm using the bulb to keep him clear but does anyone have any suggestions? I called the nurses line at his pediatricians office and I'm waiting for a call back.

I do my business first because I never know how long he's going to decide to eat for.
PikoPiko, another vote for do your business first!
H was sick last week and took a whole day to sleep and recover while I watched LO (on her fussiest day to date, btw). Now he has gotten ME super sick and guess who is napping right now? Since I'm typing I'll give you a hint... it is not me!! Ugh. He said he will nap from 11 to 1:30 and then it's my turn until he leaves to get the dogs from the groomers at 3. That is not equal nap time!!! He does have to go into work tonight at 11 so I guess I'll cut him some slack.

Struggling today.
LO won't sleep longer than 2 hour stretches at night and I just can't nap during the day. H told me to take a nap yesterday and I tried for over an hour and just couldn't. Then, I tried cutting LO's nails and my worse nightmare came true of making him bleed. I cried and felt awful. I'm never trying to cut his nails again! I still feel terrible and question my abilities to mother.
Hope everyone had a good weekend, I'm just a downer today!

Sorry it's been so rough. It will get better, even the nail trimming.
PikoPiko yay yay yay for progress! I go to the bathroom before I get LO so I can focus on him afterward without being distracted / rushed by the full bladder.
kaydee0402 do you have a nose Frieda? It looks weird but is awesome. Also you can use saline spray to loosen the mucus before you suck it out.
We had a busy weekend! All moved into the new place and completely done with the old place! We love it! Except for maybe LO, who I'm pretty sure is still in full-on growth spurt mode and is not loving much of anything these days (he needs something in his mouth at all times...thank goodness for the wubbanub!)
I had to go pick up DD1 from daycare. Damn 2 year molars. She was just laying on the carpet doing nothing. Thankfully my mil is here today. The thought of taking care of two kids all day scares me. I'm amazed by those who do it everyday.

Just took an hour walk while baby napped in the ergo! Thank god spring has arrived! This kid falls asleep with any movement but doesn't nap on his own well. I fear we will be taking walking naps all summer

We had that a week or so ago. No fever, but probably was a small cold. We ran the humidifier round the clock and used saline solution. Also held him facedown more, especially after we put the saline in, so that gravity would help. He got over it in 4 days or so. I talked to the pediatrician and she said as long as he could eat he would be fine.
DD isn't even 5 weeks old, EBF, pumping........ and I think I started my freaking period! Bleeding had slowed down to the point I didn't have to wear liners. Past few days, I've felt really bloated, more irritable and crampy and had bright red bleeding last night. WTF?!!!!!
