Had a F/U appointment this morning and it went well. The cysts in baby's chest look to be remaining around the same size as after the procedure Monday last week... so a bit bigger than Wednesday. However, my doc explained that depending on position of nugget and the shadows from the arms, etc. the measurements could be from the top of the mass or the bottom, and that affects what it looks like. Because right now one half is a bit bigger than the other. But they both look good and similar to last week.
Plus, there was fluid in baby's tummy last week, and although it's still there, it has decreased this week. We also had thickening of the nuchal tissue/skin last week and that is also decreasing, which is all around really good.
Now just ready for my fun-filled day of more appointments on Wednesday (MRI, another U/S and an Echo)!
pbubblegum, That really sucks... especially that your insurance won't accept the midwife documentation. And how rude of that doctor to say that about your weight, he sounds like an ass.
I have my 30 week appointment today at 5pm!! And then ill schedule my 32 week tonight as well which will include another Ultrasound.. Im happy that my OB is so overboard on making sure that everything is okay (I had a cyst on my Placenta, so ive had 2 Extra Ultrasounds) but at the same time my heart bleeds for those that have only gotten the 1 at 20 weeks. I wish I could share in my joy that ive gotten to see our little girl so much and some only get to see theirs once before delivering.
Reporting live from my 3hr glucose test! The drink was nasty and I am pretty nervous for the subsequent blood draws. I'm not even allowed to have water while I am sitting here. I am entertaining myself with work, but I feel dizzy.
At my last appointment, they scheduled ALL of my appointments for the rest of the pregnancy. Which is crazy and makes it all really REAL.

I am getting another ultrasound in two weeks using the excuse of my ovarian cysts but I am really excited for that. With DD I did not have any ultrasounds after the anatomy scan until right before I was induced and I was too much of an emotional trainwreck to enjoy those.

Have my 28 week appointment coming up on Friday. It would have been my GTT but I found out I can't drink the drink since the sugar load could be a migraine trigger and we don't want to risk it. So Friday should be pretty straightforward and routine (pee in cup/weight/growth check) I'm just really curious to find out what she'll have me do instead of the GTT. All she told me was she would get me set up Friday with the appointment to get the equipment to test at home. How exciting?!? I'll check back in on Friday.
I'm REALLY looking forward to the following week when I'll begin meeting with the high risk MFM and have my first level II ultrasound. I'm super anxious for that appointment but at the same time if all goes well I think it will help relieve a lot of my anxieties and answer a lot of the questions my regular doctor has been stuck on. Can't wait for that!!

I had my last of the 4 week appointments yesterday and the first one since the GD diagnosis. Start every two weeks now - shit is getting real! My doctor was happy with my blood sugar numbers and thinks we will be fine with controlling them with diet. As of right now I won't be getting any extra tests or ultrasounds for the GD. I think my clinic has a very laid back approach to that. I am 30 weeks and yesterday my fundal height was 34cm, so I am still measuring big. I am a little worried about how big this child will be. Next appointment I sign the official consent form for the VBAC, and my doctor is still convinced that we can try it and hopefully be successful.
Had my 30 week appointment today. Got my tdap shot today. Measurements all look good. I'm starting to get really annoyed about lack of ultrasounds. It seems crazy to me to just check everything one time, and only go by my answers to questions and outside measurements after that. I mentioned to this Ob (there are 5 in my practice) about wanting to know the position since a VBAC is still an option. She said they will check via quick ultrasound, but not until 37 weeks or something. I told her he was breech at my anatomy scan and I just wish I could know the position he was currently in. I felt like maybe he had flipped because of where I am always feeling hiccups - way down low- but she layed me back and pushed around on my belly to try and feel (I just wrote about how unreliable that method was for me last time), and she said she was pretty sure she was feeling a head up around my ribs; so still breech. So now we will schedule a date for 40-41 weeks, just to get it in the books. Then when they check via ultrasound later, if he is still breech then (37), we will move the date up to around 39 weeks. I'm still not even sure how I feel about it all. Part of my wants to try a VBAC, or at least have that be an option because he is in the right position, but part of me wants to be able to schedule something and do a csection since I now know what to expect, unlike a vaginal birth. I hate the end of pregnancy. I'm constantly a ball of nerves, ready to go into labor at any second, but eager and terrified of him finally being here.

I had my 30 week appointment this morning and my 3 hour glucose. Hopefully I 'll get the results of that tomorrow sometime. That was the worst experience so far...god that drink is awful! We took our birthing class on Saturday so I had some questions for my Dr which she answered all of the way I was hoping. She's totally laid back about walking, showering, birthing balls, etc during labor and as long as I'm progressing well, will only monitor me once an hour so I can be up and around. She measured me at exactly 30cm so I am right on track and the heart beat was nice and strong. In 2 weeks I meet a third Dr in the practice and at 36 weeks I'm there once a week...eeek!!

Sounds like she's going to have you monitor your blood sugar levels over a period of time to check for signs on GD. If the drink is a migrane trigger for you, there are options of specific combinations of food to eat too.
A friend of mine reacted poorly to the drink with her 1st, so with her 2nd pregnancy her doc had her eat a specific breakfast when she got to the office the morning of her test, and then they did the blood draw. She said it was so much better. I thought about asking to do that this time, but my test was scheduled so quickly, I didn't really care since it doesn't bother me too much. I can't remember the "combo" of foods she ate, but it just has to add up to that same amount of sugar as the drink.
I've had my 31 week appointment today... They're a little off but that's cool with me. I passed my 3 hour glucose test and all looks well. I see the doc in 2 weeks again. Received some more info about my repeat c/s and some other hospital information.

Just finished with OB for 31ish week appointment. Weight gain is on track. Baby's heart rate has slowed down from 150s to 130s which apparently is normal as they grow. Still measuring a little big (3ish weeks). Baby is head down presently. Tdap at next visit... pretty run of the mill stuff going on here. We talked about doing a position untrasound at 36... so I'll hopefully get to see the baby one more time before he's here!
Had my 31ish week appointment today. Weight gain is a little high, I've gained 31 since my first appointment but he didn't seem too concerned since it had only been 3 pounds since my last appointment, 3 weeks ago.
Baby's heart rate was 140, which he said was normal. Got my TDAP and so far not feeling any effects. I can tell my arm will be sore eventually.

Passed my glucose test on Friday. We got to see the perinatologist yesterday to check on LO's growth. (LO has a 2 vessel cord so they want to keep an eye on growth). At 30 weeks this baby is measuring 3lbs 12oz and in the 92nd percentile. My measurements at my midwife office have me at 33 weeks. So basically this is going to be a big kiddo. We are thrilled because we were worried that it was going to be small due to the 2 vessel cord.
Just got finished with my last 4 week appointment. IT WAS AWFUL. My doctor was pleased that I finally put some weight on. I, on the other hand, wanted to cry. 8lbs in 4 fucking weeks. I haven't talked about it much here but I lost some during first tri and was struggling to put it back on. I was flat to pre pregnancy last appointment. So he's having a party that I'm headed in the right direction. But DAYUM an 8 lb jump like that really fucks with ya. My arm hurts from the TDAP shot and I'm waiting to get my blood drawn from my GTT. Then my mom and I are off for italian for lunch. Gimmie all the carbs and tirimisu.
I totally understand. I lost a lot of weight during first tri, but gained 11lbs btw my 16 and 20 wk appointments, then another 11 lbs btw 20 and 24 wks. My OB was like, "I'm glad you are starting to gain but you CANNOT gain that much in the next 4 weeks!" She told me to gain no more than 1/2 lb per week going forward, which sounded insane and impossible but I did it! I basically just cut out soda and snacking late at night. It definitely messes with your mind to gain so rapidly!
Had my last 4-week appt on 3/30. My weight was on track and so were baby's growth/measurements. Took my 1-hr GD test and get results back tomorrow. Scheduled my c-section...exciting! Shit's getting real now.
Had my last four week appointment today. It went great! My doctor was thrilled with everything and I passed my three hour glucose test. I've only gained a pound but since I was overweight to begin with and my baby is growing well my doctor is totally ok with that.
I also had an ultrasound today to check on the fetal skull....last time the baby was sitting funny and they couldn't get a good look at the skull so they just wanted to check on it. We probably will get results next week but the doctor wasn't worried.
I was a real cranky pants before and after my appointment yesterday, between not eating my normal breakfast and not taking any Robitussin to battle my cough... then that glucose drink made me feel way sicker than I remember feeling with DD (but maybe I forgot). I was dizzy and felt my heart racing for hours afterward, hopefully that isn't a bad sign. I got my Rhogram shot which also stung more than I remembered, but I am putting off TDAP until my 31 week appointment.

Morning! Thank god it's Friday!
Had my 28 week checkup and found out I passed the 1 hr glucose The midwife also informed me to start counting kicks, 10 per hour, twice a day. Does this make anyone else nervous?
I had by full day of appointments on Wednesday, so here's a somewhat short recap of that super long day at the hospital:
The MRI, U/S, and Echo cardiogram went well! The cysts are maintaining size and only growing a tiny bit. The cardiologist is fairly certain the heart is growing and functioning normally even with the occasional pressure on it between procedures. He is happy with where we are now, and just wants to do another echo after baby is born.
We don't have all the MRI results back, but should either tomorrow or Monday (at my next appointment). In the MRI, they're looking of course for the shunts and where they are, but also taking a good look at the lung development (especially the right side, where the mass is). My doc wants to be sure the lungs are not being affected negatively by the masses, and get an idea of how well baby may be able to breathe on their own after birth. It was a long day yesterday, but it was a good day.
I'm now officially scheduled for bi-weekly appointments until my due date (or until baby is born). So every Mon/Thurs I'll be in the MFM office for monitoring
28 week appt went well. I'm anemic so they prescribed me iron and I also mentioned how my anxiety is out of control lately so I have a new rx for that and I get to see a counselor who specializes in pre and postnatal care. I'm measuring at 29 weeks, which is the first time ive ever been ahead. I got my tdap, too!
I still have to do my 3 hour GTT tomorrow. Ugh. She said there aren't any alternatives to it. It's going to be rough.
Had my weekly appointment today. Will be 29 weeks tomorrow! Cervix is still less then 1cm dialated!!!! So happy to still be pregnant! Got my TDAP there is a good chance I could have a full term baby!!!!!!!!
