Anyone else brave/dumb enough for a toddler bed yet?

We've converted the crib to a toddler bed, but DD hasn't slept in it yet. We still need to finish toddler proofing her room (hopefully this coming weekend) and then we will try.

Awesome, BulmaB! We're still bedsharing. Sometimes I think a toddler bed would be more appealing to Cam than his crib, but I don't think we could successfully switch yet.

heck no! The girls share a room and that would not go over well! I am DREADING moving DD2 to a bed.

With that said- DD1 moved to a toddler bed at 22 months because she met the height limit. The first few nights were terrible terrible terrible but then it got better.

That's awesome. I am absolutely not brave enough to do so yet. DS currently farts around in his crib for 5-10 minutes before falling asleep at night, so I'm afraid that if he were free he would be all over the place in there. He can sleep in a crib till college right?

Well things went to crap after the first 2 nights. I think that is because he wasn't feeling well. Last night he went down okay but woke up around 9. I was too tired to fight so I brought him in bed with me. This is the first time he has ever slept in bed with me. We are going to try to get her switched over soon. 1st step for us is night weaning, we are still bed sharing. We talked over what to do with the lactation consultant a few months ago, just haven't had the chutzpah to implement it yet. I feel enormous guilt over night weaning, but I feel like I have put it off for as long as possible. DH is at his breaking point over it. We will see how committed he is as he has a big role in our plan. He is going to be the main comforter at night while she gets adjusted.

We already have the bed picked out, we will probably get it in early May. She loves Thomas the train, so we are going to do that as bedding and try to play up that and the new bed as much as possible.

We will probably transition when she starts trying to climb out. We would also have some more baby proofing to do as well. If she potty trains before she climbs out of the crib we might transition sooner, so that she can go potty when she needs too.

I'm scared that the trying to climb out will happen sooner then I can deal with. Our apartment is proving impossible to child proof, I would have to gate him into his room so he doesn't wander.
