I don't think this has been discussed yet. Anyone plan on doing the easter bunny thing with your LO? We have talked about it and want to do that tradition but I am having a hard time knowing what I should get. Last year Ds1 was 2 and that was the first year we did it with him because up until then he didn't care either way so we got him a bike. Obviously we can't get LO a bike. Bonus points if you have ideas for what to get a 3 year old! I feel like Santa and Easter Bunny is something we should and want to do because as they get older their friends will have that so they should to. I could really care less either way and be fine not doing it but DH insists and naturally I'm the one who does the gift shopping.
I bought him a basket and a few small presents - a couple of board books, a stuffed toy, and a couple of other things I can't remember. I also got him a tiny chocolate rabbit to try. He will not be eating it while wearing his nice clothes.
At daycare the kiddos are doing an Easter egg hunt Thursday. We might do one in our backyard for him too.

We are having LOs bday party on easter and I was thinking about setting up an Easter egg Hung but haven't decided yet. The only ones who would probably enjoy it are my 3yr old and my 5yr old niece. DHs Nieces and nephews are so weird all they probably will do is sit on their iPads and cell phones because God forbid they get any fresh air.
We don't get big stuff, more trinkets and snacks that go in the basket. Both the 2 year old and the one year old got an Easter themed sippy cup and a small chocolate egg. My M14 baby will get a pair of bunny ears (the 2yo already got that last year), the 2yo a pretty headband. Both get plastic eggs with some change for their piggy banks. And I found at target some shower scrubbers that look like bunnies/chicks, so they each got one. My mom will get each girl a Easter or spring theme book. The 15 year old gets candy, a jar of TJs cookie butter, and $5.
I got LO some egg shaped crayons but that's it this year. She had plenty already and I know she'll get things from her grandparents. I do plan to do an Easter egg hunt. It'll have to be inside because it's still cold here. And we'll also color eggs and LO will watch.
MIL does the Easter basket. For Day care I stuffed some eggs with puffs, cheddar sticks, and yogurt melts. May just hide a few empty eggs for her on Sunday. Both Grandma's are coming into town to go to church with us. Should be a fun day

I'm confused about easter turning into a BIG present holiday. Growing up we did egg hunts and smaller, sillier/fun presents, but certainly nothing big or anything I had a wish list for. But looking at the Target circular, it looks like I'm supposed to be buying all sorts of presents. Well.....won't be doing that. Especially this year.
We're not doing anything for Easter this year. DH won't be here. LO won't care. DD1 doesn't really have any easter expectations. So I don't feel bad at all.
Easter bunny creeps me out big time so we're not seeing him either.
Hmm...nothing this year! We are going to a friend's house for Easter. Their 15mo old and our 13mo old will get to play all day Until LO is bigger, we won't be doing anything.

I got her a small basket and I am filling it with clearance finds and other cheap things. I found some bubbles for under $1 and them some $1 character socks at Target. I may throw in a few snacks and call it a day.
As she gets older I want to do egg hunts and just fill them with change she can put in her piggy bank.

We got a small basket we're putting together. It has a book, a stuffed animal and some Easter eggs we'll put Cheerios in so she can shake them. We'll start doing bigger baskets next year.
DD was about 10.5 or 11 months at her first easter, and we did do a basket. She got a sippy cup, sun hat, stuffed bunny, a book, and we filled a couple plastic eggs with dry snacks (puffs, yogurt bites). We'll do something similar for DS this year who is 13 months.

For a 3 year old: -books -stickers -bubbles -temporary tattoo -sidewalk chalk -sunglasses -hat -coloring book/crayons
I can remember a fun basket and maybe a new pair of shoes - but I had friends who got DVDs, iPods, etc. WTH?
I'm on the fence with Easter. I wasn't planning on doing anything with our kids this year. Mine are too young to understand the reason and frankly I don't need melted chocolate all over the house. We will be going to my mother's who will gift them a basket, their nice outfit, and will provide an Easter egg hunt.
shoooooooot, I'm still on the fence about getting LO a birthday present this year. not because I'm a mean mommy, but because he doesn't understand any of it yet and our giant greek family is already going to get him more than we can handle. (although DH plans to build him a swingset. let's call that the present. and maybe a water table.) as for easter, I totally agree that easter was never a 'big' present holiday. when I was a kid, we always did a fun egg hunt with candy and then got a basket with candy and maybe some books/toys. for LO, I will definitely follow this tradition starting next year, but this year he is just so young that he won't get it at all. he'd try to eat the plastic eggs. We will go to DH's aunt's house to celebrate and have fun with him but as for gifts.....idk. probably not. do all your lo's color already?? I see some crayons and chalk mentioned. mine would eat them!!!! haha!

kimberpoo we are not getting LO any birthday gifts because honestly he doesn't need anything, we have an older son who we have tons of clothes from and as far as toys, we got double dumped on for Christmas since we have to boys so we've decided there is nothing we need to get him. Everyone else can do that, there are 40ppl coming to his party.
We actually aren't even gonna be home for Easter. But I bought LO some egg shaped chalk and I wanted to get her some bubbles. Just some small outdoor stuff for spring. I did not get a basket though. Maybe next year when she gets it more.
kimberpoo, LO hasn't attempted coloring yet, but the egg shaped crayons are supposed to be easy for toddlers to hold and not as easy to break as regular crayons. I'm sure LO will just attempt to eat them.

We are doing a small Easter basket for DD. I bought bubbles, chalk, a sun hat, sunglasses, and sandles for her. As creepy as it sounds, I really want to find an Easter bunny in a mall somewhere to get pics done. I just can't find one around here.
My mom will do easter baskets for all of us. My mom and dad always made my husband and i hunt for eggs in their living room before we got said baskets even though we're in our 30's. Am sure the tradition will continue with little man this year. Got him and adorable romper by Accents by Aggie to wear.

For LO, I bought some little hair clips to put in Easter eggs. We also let her try a Reese's peanut butter egg this past weekend, so I will probably put 1 in an egg for her also. Maybe some change in another egg for her to shake around.
For SD (she's 7) I got a little more. I got some candy, a pen with the top shaped like a bunny, and a sticker activity book.
Oh, and I got both girls a wind up hopping bunny that I thought were so cute I couldn't pass them up. Including the baskets and grass, I think I spent a total of $20.
My LO has eaten a lot of chalk. It makes for alarming colored poops, until memory kicks in.
LOL! Thanks for the heads up! LO sometimes gets ahold of DD1's chalk. I've kept it out of her mouth so far, but she's a mouthy baby. If I see some colored poops after chalk play, I'll keep this in mind.
