But I would like to find out. I have no living children of my own, but have two stepdaughters. I've lurked on TB, but was never sure if I belonged since I have no living children of my own.
Here's my intro: I'm 31 and DH IS 27. He has twin girls,4 years old. We've been married going on 3 years. Have the girls every other fri-sun and then thur-fri the next week.

Hey! I recognize you from CAL/TTCAL. I've been lurking around on this board too. I have a 9 year old stepdaughter, no living children of my own (yet). DH has primary custody of SD and I've been in her life since she was a baby, but it's hard at times juggling being a good stepmom while going through losses.
Yes it is. The girls are too young to understand, but I know it's hard on everyone when we suffer a loss. I feel like sometimes I take out some of my stress on the family, and I hate it.

Welcome! You totally fit in here! Blended families come in all types — on the old board on TB there were even adult children of divorce who would cruise by the board for some advice and support before family holidays with their estranged parents and things like that.
Taking out your stress on your family is part of the joys of parenting, right? At least I think that's what I read in the brochure.

As far as I can tell, yes. Lol
I love being a stepmother, it's just difficult. I love those girls like they're my own, but I know they're not. I don't know if I will ever get to have any of my own, and I don't know if step mama is going to be enough. There will always be that hole. I will always want my own.
