Cecilia was our early Easter gift arriving at 3:28am this morning! When I get some time later on I'll come back with her birth story. Long story short: it was uneventful, I was able to progress in my own without an induction, and I only had to push 3 times and she was out.
Longer story: I started contractions at 2am on Saturday morning and noticed blood at about 7am. The contractions started getting closer but nothing too consistent. The blood continued however so I finally called my OB's office around 5pm and the on-call doctor told me to head to the er because he was concerned. I got to the ER around 7pm and come to find out my bag had broken at the top and I was leaking fluid. The blood was from my cervix dilating. I was at a 4 and they admitted me. I decided after a bit that I wanted an epidural so I had that placed and waited to see how things progressed. By midnight I was at 7 and by 2:45am I was at a 10. The resident said that she still hadn't descended because the bag of waters was blocking her way so she broke it and the nurse went to prepare the room. The on-call OB finally graced us with his presence at 3:20am, he gowned up, we waited for a contraction I pushed hard three times and she was here at 3:28. I got lucky and didn't tear and I feel really good recovery-wise this time around. Henry came to visit with my parents this afternoon and he was very interested in his baby sister for about 5 minutes before he discovered the wall hand sanitizer dispenser.
