There are some yoga poses that help with fertility and increase blood flow to your uterus. I can't remember who mentioned it on the boards before, but I looked it up on pinterest and I try to do some of the poses/stretches every night.
I did. For the record I think it is a bunch of hooey, but I'm in the crazy train mode of trying all the stupid things.
Ah thanks! I'm giving it a try too. I do yoga regularly, so I figure it can't hurt to throw a few poses into the mix.

I considered doing the pineapple core this cycle but I don't know exactly when to do or if it would have any adverse affects for any reason. Does it have to be the core or can it be chunks of fresh pineapple too?

It all depends on your absorption rate. You should always have your levels checked before increasing doses. I have super low vitamin B and D levels even with supplements.
Make sense. I just wondered if my shorter LPs were related to that. I was thinking more like maybe I should eat more foods rich in vitamin B rather than "I should totally start taking a supplement."
I have avg.-ish LPs. I haven't really done a ton of reading on it. If you have concerns ask to have your levels checked. No harm in that.
Temp, check things, drink pomegranate juice because yummy, take vitamins, and let my husband do me.
Honestly, I feel like I do the things I do more out of my own need to feel a sense of control than I really think they're going to "help" us get pregnant faster at this point.

I've done a range of randoms, none of which have made any noticeable difference. Green tea, Pom juice, pineapple core... They were just a fruit salad of fail.

Quit being all logical on me.
Honestly, if they continue to be 10 days I might make an appointment to ask.

My reasoning for being overly logical about it is because I only get my period for two days. Try googling that one. It's mind-blowing.
Oh yea, I try not to Google stuff. Or at least I try to Google useful stuff like "how much b vitamin is recommended?" Rather than "how do I lengthen my luteal phase?"
I take extra vitamin A (in the form of beta carotene) during the first half of my cycle to increase CM. The cycle I got KU, I was taking maca root. (Maca is just a root vegetable, doesn't contain hormones and can't do any harm, as long as you're using it in gelatinized form.) I was also using rose otto oil prior to ovulation, more because I liked it than because I thought it would help me get pregnant; and I was drinking raspberry leaf tea and/or taking RL tincture 2-3 times a day. Who knows if any of those things helped, or if it was just coincidental.
I've also got H taking a quality multivitamin, zinc, and maca.
Having said all that, though, all you need to get knocked up is well-timed sex, and patience. Unless there's a problem that requires treatment. I like trying different things, but I realize that they probably won't make a difference. And I agree with PPs re: staying away from Vitex (chasteberry), or black cohosh, or anything you might see being sold in supplement stores as a "reproductive blend." Some herbs can do real damage.
Keeping myself healthy and taking time to relax. To relax I plan to get back into my fitness routine when I get back to work, and I intend to leave work at work as much as possible. Too much stress and I don't O - not good for GKU.

I made the mistake of googling of causes for a two day period ( or similar wording). Never doing that again.
The only new thing I am trying is green tea and fruit infused water. I've been adding lemon, cucumber and mint to my water. I also tried strawberries, lemon and mint. I don't know if it'll do anything but it's easier to drink water when u add a little flavor. And I'm assuming it's healthy.
This is my first cycle actually TTC, so temping and timing were it. Even that was questionable at best because I may have missed O due to a horrible phone call that jolted me out of bed on Saturday and a hangover Sunday morning. Monday when I got back to it temps had risen.
I had heard of zinc before, but it was because I was always "one of the guys." One of my friends made a comment once about taking zinc specifically because it increases semen quantity (he didn't care about sperm count), and deliberately taking it when he was with a woman he didn't particularly like. Yes, he's a d-bag, but I'd never date him. He's much nicer to me than any of his girlfriends.

To the bolded: What?
In general: And why are you friends with him?
It was believed to increase fluid and therefore make a substantial mess. Possibly he lives in a porn fantasy world. We are friends by association, through a large group of mostly other guys, this was an anecdote over a few drinks with them several years ago. Fwiw, he's still single. I'd paraphrase the conversation the best that I could for further clarification, but it really doesn't even matter or pertain to this thread. I was only referring to the fact that I'd heard of zinc for men, but not for sperm count so much as semen volume.

At least this I better than when I thought he was trying to KU a girl because he didn't like her...

Why the fuck would taking zinc and not particularly liking a woman have anything to do with anything? I would think if he didn't particularly like this woman (douche) than how would semen quantity play a factor?

Answered above.
I see that now. Still doesn't make sense. Just break up with the chick. Don't jizz her away.

Oh, I'm taking vitamin D also, except not right now because of Passover, and I was told to take it in general by another doctor, but it's also apparently linked to TTC.
I'm thinking of trying acupuncture. There are tons of practitioners in my city (yay melting pot) and H and I both have some coverage for paramedical services. It is on my RE's list of things to try so why not?
The cycle I got pregnant was the cycle MH started taking a multi-vitamin. #anecdote
The swimmers that got you KTFU were 3 mo old, but a men's multi-vitamin is good regardless
What's the deal with spearmint tea, samanthasays? That sounds tasty.
I don't think there is anything proven on it, but supposedly it helps regulate hormones, especially for people with PCOS (which I don't have). I prefer the taste of spearmint over peppermint, spearmint has much less menthol, so it tastes smoother and a little sweeter to me. It is one of those things that can't hurt and might help.
July 2013 started TTC 7/20/2014=BFP; CP confirmed 8/1/2014 Dec 2014: Diagnosis = Unexplained IF 12/24/2014 Medicated TI (clomid)=BFN 1/22/2015: IUI #1 cancelled due to cyst 02/17/2015: IUI #2 cancelled due to another cyst 3/31/2015: IUI with Femera, 1 good follie, great sperm count = CP, my December Rainbow became an Angel
brettanomyces, I'm going to ask my RE about accupuncture, he's pretty main stream though, so I'm not sure he's going to give it his seal of approval. I've read that it might be able to help with tubal issues such as blockages and scar tissue - which is what I have.

mainewifey It can't hurt to ask, and to be honest it probably wouldn't hurt to have acupuncture treatment whether he agrees with it or not, as long as you go to someone reputable with lots of experience doing infertility treatment.
Fortunately for me traditional Chinese medicine IS mainstream in my city. It was part of the general list my RE gave us along with supplements, dietary/lifestyle changes, etc. that "can't hurt might help" along with regular fertility treatments.
Other than seeing my RE and trusting in his recommendations, I always temp and do OPK's as a back up. I am not doing OPK's this cycle, however, because my egg/hormone development, ovulation, and insemination will be very controlled through the whole IUI procedure.
With the temping, I always set an alarm for 4am every day, and do my best to check cervical mucus and cervical position correctly. I start OPK's twice a day morning and evening usually around CD 10-12, depending on what day I finish my last dose of oral meds (typically I will start OPKs 3 days after).
I usually have to take progesterone and estrogen supplements to help my cervical lining, but in addition to that I take evening primrose oil, dong quai, wild yam, red raspberry leaf, maca root, and royal jelly to help increase blood flow and soften the cervix. I also take extra folic acid and a PNV.
I always tell DH when my FW is so he knows that we need to have sex more often. He thankfully does not feel pressured by it, and we usually end up having sex ED and skipping a one or at most 2 days. It works for us and I'm happy that DH is still willing to have sex with me often even though we are doing an IUI.

Ooh, I have a small list. First, I've tried ED and the cheap Wondfo OPKS. Then the last two cycles, I tried digital OPKs and ED. So this cycle, I am trying advanced digital OPKs and EOD. MH already took a fertility test and he's good. I did a FSH test earlier and that was normal. I have an appointment with my GYN to talk about testing for PCOS while I'm there getting my physical done. Also I'm considering getting a fertility monitor and a ferning microscope. I want to see what the doctor office says about the PCOS first.
