DD fell this weekend. Nothing serious and quite frankly, nothing new. But shes had a slight limp ever since. She still plays and rough houses but she is a bit more cuddly than usual. How long would you wait before calling the pedi? I was thinking if no improvement by Thursday I would call. I just need second opinions.

I wouldn't call for a bump unless she's vomiting repeatedly, pupils were different, or lethargic. Mine flipped over my arm in the tub a week ago, puked shortly afterward but then was herself right away; I didn't call but instead looked up symptoms to watch for.
More cuddly than usual could be any number of things. Watch for pupils and vomiting, maybe balance issues but I wouldn't worry. Call though, if you want - it can't hurt.
I agree extra cuddles could be anything. Honestly, I just figured its been 5 stinking days. I though her limp would be at least a little better by now. Not worse but not better.

For some reason I read limp as lump and assumed you were worrying about a bump to the head. A limp might be something to be concerned about, I honestly don't know. Doesn't seem like the kids would be faking a limp at this age. A call to the pedi could result in expensive x-rays when it's just a bruise, IDK.

I actually read the same. In the case of a limp that has gone on this long I would call or go to the walk-in.

Wondering if she might have a toddler fracture. Which are evidently fairly common this age (my pediatrician said he sees them about every other week). It's like a crack in the bone. My son got one earlier this month from a minor fall while walking around the house. They often will heal without a cast.

This has been my fear. She can't tell me if its bothering her, but obviously it is. I dont think she would fake a limp at thia age. How do they come to thay diagnosis? Xray?
I think if the limp has lasted that long it seems to be more than just a bruise, so I'd likely take my LO in just to make sure there wasn't a break. Even if it is a toddler fracture that doesn't require a cast they may have special precautions that they'd want you to take.

According to my pediatrician's office, they usually don't show up on x-ray right away. So they didn't x-ray my son. But they said after a week or so, they can often see on the x-ray where it is healing. They said that often it heals without a cast, but if it's not getting better they sometimes do cast. I would say if it doesn't seem to be getting better, best to play it safe and take her to the pediatrician.
Just to update: I called her pediatrician and of course they're slammed with sick calls. Unfortunately they cant fit her in until Monday morning. We'll see from there.
Official word: Broken leg. She ended up getting a cast from her foot up to mid-thigh for the next 3 weeks. Then they will remove it, do another xray and decide from there. *sigh*

Oh! Poor girl! That really sucks. I can't imagine having a toddler in a cast.
I'm sure you are going to have a blast answering the questions of nosy buggers all over asking "What happened?" and offering their judgement. Ugh.
My phone was blowing up allllll night long! Add to the mix that S couldnt get comfortable and was up 3 times..I'm a tired mommy! Shes actually handling it better than I expected. The first hour was a real learning curve for her. Its like watching her learn to walk all over again in the course of a couple of hours. Shes now able to walk as long as you hold her hands. My biggest obstacle is bath time. We gave her a sponge bath last night but werent able to wash her hair. I may try to find a pediatric cast bag at work today.
