I noticed most of us are wanting to maintain some sort of activity during this process. I thought maybe we could have maybe a weekly check in for our workouts and to encourage each other/keep each other accountable. Maybe a Healthy Living Check In or a Weekly Workout Check In? Thoughts?
I'll go first.
1) Workout Plan: I started Bikini Body Mommy 3.0 about a month and a half ago. I missed a couple days last week, so I'm playing catch up this week. Starting next week I want to add in a daily run. I have done BBM in the past and seen decent results, mostly inches and just toning.
2) Goals: I would like to lose about 15 pounds before we start TTC again. I'm definitely a stress eater so the loss has really done a number on my eating habits.
3) Struggles: Like I said, I'm a stress eater. I also have a tendency to eat when I'm bored. I'm trying to get better about eating small portions and eating every few hours instead of waiting until I'm starving and overeating.
1) no workout plan until I am cleared. 2) goals- currently to make it through this without gaining weight. Long term is to lose 15lbs and be happy in my body again. 3) struggles- I am a stress eater as well. The big ol' basket of candy Alex can't eat isn't helping the situation.
1) workout plan is to keep up with my running schedule. I'm about to hit the super busy time at work and I know I won't run during the week if I don't make it a priority.
2) run and get faster! I'm also going back to eating super low carb in hopes I will get more energy. I felt so much better eating Low carb and I need to feel better again!
3) chocolate and sweets are my weakness and struggles. I can sit and eat sweets all day and not even realize how much I've eaten.

Do you have any low carb recipes you wouldn't mind sharing?

Honestly I eat a lot of just plain seasoned meat (salt, pepper, garlic) and a veggie that's low carb. Recently I've been getting more creative and using spaghetti squash to make spaghetti. I'm trying to get to keto now, so I will have to get more creative to eat more fat and less protein.
buttercup, do you use a fitbit to track your steps? I love mine, however I did take it off this week since it just made me sad.
Yes. I love it. I was questioning if I would use it, but it really motivates me to get active.
I understand how it can make one sad. I bought mine after i found out I was pregnant. I wanted to keep active during the pregnancy. I stopped using it for a while after the loss.
I love using the fitbit. I too thought I wouldn't use it as much as I do or it wouldn't motivate me, but it pushes me. I have just recently started using the challenges with friends & that has really pushed me to get more in every day.
Ladies I would love to join this checkin. I had just rejoined the Y and gotten back into a good schedule when we got our last BFP. PGAL brain wasn't letting me do a whole lot. While I wait, one of my goals is to get right back to it... 1) Plan: Walk daily, 1 class per week, and 2 workout sessions while DS is in (free!) child watch at the Y. 2) Goals: Lose 15 lbs, but more importantly be comfortable in my body again. The holidays (which fell right after my first loss) really did a number on me this year, and being trapped inside by a million feet of snow didn't help. 3) Struggles: Motivation and stress eating. I need to get rid of a lot of the temptations in my house. SO is one of those people who can eat everything and never gain an ounce, but I think he will understand if I explain how important this is for my mental health.
Since we are benched and I'm cleared to work out, I'm going to try my hardest to drop some weight by June.
Plan: Hit 10,000 steps daily (fitbit!); do Gorilla App workouts with hubs daily; track in my fitness pal; eat well. Goals: Lose 20 lbs by June, be more fit for a healthier future and hopefully an easier next pregnancy. Struggles: since I work from home, it's harder to get in more steps. I need to use nap and bedtime to get on the treadmill.
I've done these things 4 out of the last 5 days. Here's to all of our success!
I haven't introed, but since I know many of you already, I'm just going to jump right in!
I'm trying to hit 10K steps a day, and I'm signed up for a 10K in...four and a half weeks. Yikes. I won't be able to run the whole thing, but at this point I can handle 4.5 miles if I alternate .2 miles walking and .3 miles jogging. Basically, I just want to finish the 10K before my much fitter sister finishes her half marathon.
I have about 15 pounds to lose to hit pre-pregnancy weight and another 15-20 after that to have a healthy BMI. I don't really have an "X number of pounds before Y" goal, but I figure any amount lost will be a good thing as far as TTC goes.
My biggest hurdle is mental. After a long day of teaching the last thing I want to do is go for a run, but it's getting easier.
Thanks! I've been computer-free for the past week or so because of spring break. It felt really good to detach, but what a lift it was last night to peek in and see that this board is taking off.
