Help with Children's Place Cash

I earned $20 in Children's Place Cash when they had a sale a few weeks ago.  I'm attempting to use it online but I'm confused as to why it won't take off $20.  My cart had $39.95 before I applied any cash.  After I'm done it only comes down to $27.  Why is it not taking off $20?  Anyone have any secrets for spending this cash online?

I'm not much help since I don't shop there all that much, but does the coupon say it doesn't apply to certain items? (clearance, doorbuster, etc) and you have those items in your cart?

Each coupon is for $10 off of $20. So you need to spend $40 to use all $20. You're only 5 cents away, find the cheapest thing you can!

You used to be able to use the cash with no minimum and combine them with coupon codes. Now they took away all the fun.

the place cash is kind of stupid.
the price now are higher than normal.
after the 20th (when the place cash expired) you will get better prices which will be combinable with a valid coupon.. giving better results
