What's going on today ladies? Also- maybe we can add a GTKY Friday or something- what should we talk about? First kiss? Meeting your spouse? First concert? Any takers?

Meeting your spouse is fun! We did it on my birth month board and it also morphed into your best date with your spouse. I'll start!
DH and I actually met at work. When still living in Florida, we worked for the same company, but different divisions. Our offices were in the same building though. The building had a large population of associates so there were co-ed sports leagues year round. During soccer season, we were both on the same team. After the games, a group of us would always go out to a bar. That's where we hit it off. Mega flirting and some post-game, post-bar rendezvous's. It was super hot.
Best date...ok, dates, cuz I can't do just one. I'd say most of our "best dates" involve a vacation.
Pre-marriage: The first would be when we took a trip to NYC shortly after we started dating. We both love Broadway shows so we went and had dinner and saw a show every night we were there. And of course we did all those super touristy things together as well. He also told me he loved me the first time while riding an NYC subway train. It sounds weird being that we were on a subway, but it was so super special because A. it was the first time he'd said it to me (i had already said it to him) and B. it was on a subway in our most favorite city in the world. Possibly my most favorite memory of ours together as a couple pre-wedding and pre-baby.
I also miss the super classy times when we would just hang out at my house, drink a ton, listen to music, dance around like idiots and then end the night with really good drunk sex. Thee definition of a classy date right there!
Post-marriage: Another was when we drove up to North Carolina for a friend's wedding. We made a vacation out of it and made stops in both Savannah, GA and Charleston, SC on the way back (Charleston has over taken my favorite place in the USA over NYC btw!). Both cities are just so sweet, quaint and charming. We had so much fun walking all over the place and exploring. And going bar hopping to all these cool little bars. It was a super sweet trip.
We did a babymoon to NYC (yes, again). I was like 5 or 6 months along by this time so we would make frequent stops at coffee shops so I could rest after all of the walking. We explored different parts of the city that we hadn't spent much time in. We also got tickets to be in The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon audience. This was a HUGE deal because Jimmy is...well, my ultimate favorite!! Not sure if anyone watches him regularly, but he usually runs up into the audience after the show and high fives and hugs people. Well, I was down near the front on an end. When he came running up, he stopped, high fived me and then talked to my baby bump!!! I cannot wait to tell DD the story when she's older. I'll post a pic of it later. And will see if I can get the video to post as well. It was like, the coolest thing to happen to me in forever. lol. But anyways, this trip was super special because it was our last big trip before baby!
ladytiffany24 those are great stories! I need to see this video/pic asap amazing!!
I'll go with first concert bc I love music. My first concert was Tori Amos. Saw her in hs, me and a friend waited in line forever to get the tickets. We thought we were so cool and angsty back then.
My husband and I met in the navy. We were at a school in Newport, RI and found out we were both going to the same ship in HI. One of the bosses on the ship took a group of us out for dinner. We didn't like each other that night. Fast forward a few months. I'd arrived in HI already and was throwing a party. DH was arriving that night to report to the ship and a mutual friend picked him up and brought him to my house. We became friends, and a little under a year later became more than that. We've now been together 11 years and married for 8. HI is a nice place to fall in love.
My first concert other than when my parents took me to see the Beach Boys when I was 5, was Toby Keith. I was a big country fan in high school. I go back and forth these days between the Christian/ warm 98/ 105.1/ and 107.9 these days. But back then- Toby was awesome! Favorite concert ever was the Dixie Chicks- still probably my favorite artists of all time.

I don't have time to type out my stories just now, but @ladytiffany, not only do I watch Jimmy Fallon regularly, but I'm pretty sure I remember watching that happen to you as it aired. I love Jimmy, he's so down to earth.
@nachomama I must have missed before that you were in the Navy - that's awesome- I have respect for all military individuals but especially women- and extra especially mothers- hats off!

Our "where we met" story is boring. Match.com. haha But he did put together a decent first date. We went to a Cyclones game, and it was my first hockey game, so that was cool. A few dates later, he texted me asking if I would be his gf, and I wasn't gonna let him get off that easy, lol. A few dates after that, we went walking around Eden park (his intention was to ask me to be his gf there, but he chickened out. He was pretty shy). That night as he was leaving my apartment, I realized I left my jacket in his car, so he ran it up to me. I was waiting in the stairwell and that's where he admitted he wanted to ask me at the park to be his gf. So he asked me in the stairwell of my apartment.
I'm not sure what my favorite date is... other than our whole freaking honeymoon, if that counts. We stayed at a luxurious resort in Cancun and everything about that week was perfection. I would probably do anything to relive that week!
ladytiffany24, That is amazing! Love the video, and your reaction! Too cute

ladytiffany24, what a cool story! vlagroupie, ohh if the tori concert was in cinni, I might of been there too nachomomma, I just want to go to HI, what a amazing place to fall in love- how long were you station there? my cousins husband was station there for a while till he was sadly killed in Iraq.
My husband and I met at work in 2004. When I meet him I was dating someone else. But lets just say he caught my eye. At that time he had a small mowhawk, big black boots- so I was curious on what was underneath that hard surface- anyhow the guy I was dating was pretty into himself- and my husband i were becoming friends- he just and still makes me laugh no matter whats going on- anyhow the friendship quickly went into dating- and by the end of our job- we were political canvassers, he was living with me. I just sorta new from that first moment we spoke this person was for me- We have spent the last almost 11 years together- lots of fun trips, we need more us time (hard to get with our schedules) because sometimes I just miss hanging out with the husband...
first concert of my own choosing- beck, atari teenage riot
anyone else thinking about going to bunbury? there are a few band i like to see, i am really just want to see if they play all on one day...

becole thanks! I've been out of the navy longer than I was in now. So strange, since it was such a big part of making me who I am today. babylove518 I love stories where people met online. That wasn't a thing when I was dating, and I think it's pretty cool. bluerainfire I'm so sorry to hear about your coUsin's husband. That's terrible. I was stationed there for 18 months, but only probably there for about 7 months because of deployments and training exercises. Guys, I want more stories!
becole, I saw Toby Keith a couple times back in the day, too. I'm still a country music fan, but not so much a Toby fan anymore.
bluerainfire, my H was talking about wanting to go to Bunbury a while back. I really haven't looked into it at all though.
How we met (the short version): I met a guy online my senior year of college, and when we met in person and started talking it was actually comical how NOT compatible we were. But he told me right away "You would be perfect for my friend." So he introduced us. At the time, H had just quit med school and was jobless living in his parents' basement. I was like "Eh... No thanks"
But I stayed friends with the mutual friend who introduced us so we saw each other every now and then. After he got his life together a little, my opiniin of him changed. A year or so later another friend tried to set us up by telling us both she was setting us up on a blind date. We both figured it out and bailed.
2 years after we first met, a 3rd friend decided to set us up again and it worked that time.
We've known each other for 9 years now. Together for 7, married for almost 3.

bluerainfire tori was in FL actually. Sounds like we might have similar musical tastes. One of my other fav concerts as a teenager was Morrissey and he is going to be here in June! Was thinking about maybe going to day 1 of Bunbury. Not crazy about most of the lineup I'm mostly interested in tame impala. A couple of years ago we went to acl fest and the last day got cancelled bc of weather and we missed tame impala. But I was able to live out my teenage dream of seeing The Cure. Sorry I totally nerded out but I love music!! Oh and DH loves Atari teenage riot I haven't listened to a lot of it. And I've beck is great live.

vlagroupie, we do have similar tastes. I would love to see the cure. I also love depeche mode. I can nerd out on music all day, because I like a lot of different types, including the dixie chicks. I still love Tori but stray away from the newer stuff- Beck was amazing live, I have no idea what is his new stuff is but am curious since he won a grammy.
JoBub, love it, I am glad your dh got his stuff togeather

I am so absurdly tired, I can't even see straight. Work is still kicking my ass. I can't seem to get out of the massive hole my predecessor left, and since new projects keep coming in, I'm not sure I ever will. Also, they just hired a new guy to oversee the office staff. I'm technically office staff even though I'm not there and don't actually report to the current office manager, but she's still my boss and I loveee her (she even married DH & I), and I'm concerned about what this guy will want to do when he comes in. Hopefully he's no bother to me at all, otherwise, peace out peeps, I don't need anymore stress than I already have.
Oh, and my house needs a massive deep cleaning. I also really want to get rid of as much furniture and other junk as I possibly can, and I can't even remember the last time I actually did anything to my hair other than run a comb through it.
I.Am.Tired.
Please.Send.All.the.Wine.
ETA: I just realized how appropriate my Siggy Gif is right now. That's me. Exactly. Tears are forming at the brims.
