I need help!!
DS's' pedi won't even look at him having allergies because he is so young. However, after two days of being constantly outside we are almost positive he inherited DH's outdoor allergies. He is constantly sneezing and rubbing his face when outside and his eyes get all puffy as well as a runny nose and watery eyes.
Should we go back and argue with the pedi or should we just wait until his 15 month appointment?? Right now DH is on the side of waiting because he doesn't think they will do anything.
I'm pretty sure J got my allergies. Our pediatrician said it's early for them to show up but not unheard of. He told us that if it's bothering him we can give him either 1/2 tsp of zyrtec or 1 tsp of benadryl at night.
I'm convinced DD has allergies. Anytime dh and I have allergy issues, she is right there with us. Pedi said I can use dimatap allergy only when she is snotty

Our pedis (we've had two since one moved) have okayed allergy medicine for both kids. Both also said that even if not allergies, may help with symptoms (runny nose, etc)
I always thought DD1's allergy symptoms were just little colds or something (mostly snotty nose), but over the last two days both kids have had lots of clear runny noses and DD2 has had really watery eyes. And I don't usually have allergy symptoms, but I did this week. And DH has HORRIBLE allergies so he's convinced they inherited it from him (I guess there is a strong genetic component). So....probably allergies.
Even though we've been given the okay to give both allergy meds, I rarely do. (When I get allergy like symptoms - which is maybe a few days a year? - I don't usually take meds.) But DH takes allergy medicine daily during his allergy times. So I don't know what to do.....just dose the kids and hope it helps? Wait til they seem miserable? (They seem fine - not cranky or rubbing their face - just runny nose and (DD2) watery eye)
But I guess to answer your question, I probably would not take them to an allergist for seasonal allergies at this point. I think it's safe to try an OTC allergy med and bring it up again at 15 months.
